OMFGWANT.

today upon inspection of my rear wheel realized that i did indeed break a spoke on my ride home last night, right at the hub at the bend of the spoke head
was seated, going up the hill out of campus and heard it, it sounded like a stick hit the spokes but it was a clear road

sick watts.

good thing mconlonx gave me extra spokes with the wheels <3

Today I am exhausted after QOTSA rocked my face off last night.

Today I commuted in, and loved, my Catlike Whisper. I can feel a breeze over my head, first helmet I've ever had like that. Tonite, shooting for a quick 15-20 mi. Tomorrow, the Sugino 75s go on the bike. Stoked.

AristoNYC 08-02-13 05:28 PM

Signed up for the NYC century bike tour only made it 75mi last year, hope to do the full 100. Anyone else in the NYC area participating?

One of my favorites. It's too bad it's no longer as of the '13 TDF Catlike's top offering. =/
Innovation and the monie in my wallet must go on!

A heavy nail will do the same thing as a center punch.

Today I am not hung over, and I attribute this to the vitamin I decided to take at around 3:30 am. This is totally going to be an thing now.

LocoTracks 08-03-13 12:42 PM

Rode an relaxed 50 miles.

SpeshulEd 08-03-13 02:28 PM

Today I did 46 miles fixed and just got a call saying I get my bike back!

No bent frame.
The derailleur was mostly fixable, about $40 in replacement parts.
One spoke had to be replaced, the rest got a clean bill of health, $2
Labor costs were around $40.

Less than $100 worth of damage. I can handle that.

I think I'm going to celebrate by buying some dura ace pedals.

Knocked out a 50 mile ride today to kill some time, I need to get a jersey and shorts, I sweat so much when I bring my backpack with me.

today i purchased this NOS '08 pista. the owner of the shop was nice enough to take apart the complete and just sell me the frame, fork and headset. :)

Mumonkan 08-03-13 06:46 PM

today, with much anxiety, drilled 2 holes in my frame and installed some threaded rivets and my new cages

i subsequently went for a ~14 mile test run to get used to using the second cage and wandered around some trails which apparently are more complex than i thought
