Yes. Now I get to start my day with rage.

Why is it so hard for people to understand that cyclists do not belong on the sidewalk? We need to lobby to get this information on driver's licence exams or something.

LesterOfPuppets 08-09-13 12:09 PM

Maybe some horrific driver's ed films with super-8 footage of peds getting mowed down by cyclists on sidewalks. Babies flying out of strollers and into the street...

prooftheory 08-09-13 12:11 PM

Exactly. It needs to become socially unacceptable for anyone over 12 to ride on the sidewalk.

seau grateau 08-09-13 12:17 PM

Judging by the fact that these people are all sending these things from their phones while driving, I don't think they have much regard for that type of thing to begin with. I just hope they all die tomorrow.

I like how half of the videos have either bikers in the bike lane or an open road for them to drive around.

LesterOfPuppets 08-09-13 12:35 PM

The first "perfectly good sidewalk" vid I saw featured a street with no sidewalk at all.

prooftheory 08-09-13 12:43 PM

The weird thing is that the vast majority of google hits on "cyclist sidewalk" are about how dangerous it is for bikes to be on the sidewalk and NYC cops ticketing riders etc. The people in Kaz's link have neither ever ridden a bike nor even walked on a sidewalk. I'm starting to agree with seau.

to clarify, i dont have anything against hipsters, whatever that even means (im still unclear on an actual definition of a hipster, its just the latest buzzword for weirdos like hippies was in the 70s)

weird people are weird and in general, i like weird people. im definitely weird and im sure theres plenty of people who dislike my weirdness but whatever, opinions are like ***holes and whatnot

Picked up an early 90's Diamond Back Sorrento rigid MTB off Craigslist last night as a new commuter for my GF, since her kinda flashy looking GT was stolen last week. Lots of surface rust and a ridiculous paint job, seat and derailleurs and bar ends are scratched to hell, non-matching NDS crankarm (a nice newer Sugino, at least it's the same length as the older original Shimano crank) but everything works perfectly after a quick tuneup. Today I rode it to work as a shakedown, and it's surprisingly comfy and fun and awesome, I kinda want to keep it... total score for $50. It's the perfect city beater.

Today I rode about 60 miles, I had to make up for dan, to make our new jersey mirage quota for the day.

I also got some cannondale c2 bars new take off at the lbs, with a new set of fizik microtex came to about 50, overall a great say

Finished building my first wheel. Was really pleased with myself until I realized that I had the valve hole in the wrong place...:twitchy: Also need to get my hands on a tension meter.

I had a "pro" shop guy build be a wheel that way once. If you can manage to get the pump head on the valve to inflate the tire, I wouldn't bother re-doing it. Also, you don't need a stinkin' tension meter to do a reasonable job building a wheel.

spRICE 08-10-13 09:58 AM

If it was me then I would rebuild it, but that's me :o

Unless you're building fancy-pants high-tension, low spoke count wheels, a tensiometer is an unnecessary expense.

Think maybe I should've gotten size L toe clips. Gonna see how they feel on today's ride, then maybe space em out with washers if necessary.
