Today I did nothing.

Put in a good 40 miles/3500ft elev. on another PCH canyon. This one did kick my ass but I managed and the descent was all cornering. Fun! I think I will continue to and tackle this one again since it is almost 10 miles closer than the other canyon and I get to practice cornering at moderate speeds.

today im kind of annoyed that suddenly all my purist bottles seem to drip from the threads a little bit.

think its time to try some of that podium sauce

Today I'm disappointed over how expensive camera repair is for legacy film SLRs. I was quoted $110 (lowest I could find) & 6-8 weeks to fix a film advance lever that wouldn't entirely actuate/ therefore wasn't returning.
Considering this was an extremely popular Minolta x700 made for some 20 odd years, I guess the first camera I ever personally saved up for is going to sit on my shelf until I travel to Hong Kong for "reasonably priced" repairs.
Funny enough, they were nudging me toward a refurbished body for only $135 on the spot but I'm pretty sure this camera is mine as mine gets.

I don't know what is so special about 10 August 2013, but just got in from watching a fireworks display that rivaled the best 4 July show that the town has put on since I have lived here. They shoot off from the rec area ~3 blocks from my house, so the view is great from my front porch. It was a nice surprise to cap off an otherwise good day (ride, mow, ride, wrench, ride more, etc.).

Today I got rid of the paul cranks on the mtb for some x7 with a spiderless chainring. looks good.

i have one of those, its my workhorse 35mm and a decent camera. a little more plastic than id like but i find the light meter easier to calculate exposures than the oldschool needle/circle on the rt 201 i also have. now that thing is a tank.

i realize its kindof a stretch but this place in manhattan has always been great for my repair needs

today i kinda fixed my macbook air after spilling beer on it 2 months ago.

but the only way to turn it on is to close the lid...

Just got home from seeing the Melvins.
Amazing show....don't even understand how a band could rehearse the things they were doing on stage.
Also, got a pic with king buzzo after he came out of the bathroom.
a++ would recommend seeing Melvins 30th anniversary tour.

^ That sounds awesome, would love to see them live.

I just got home from a 50 mile night ride -- I was kicked out of my own apartment for 3 hours because my gf was hosting the kickoff of a bachelorette party at our place for her best friend. Came back to a feast of chips and guac, spinach dip and sourdough, and penis cookies. Yeah.

Coasting is kinda strange. In other news, I got a new (to me) bike. 2010 Focus Mares Expert with full Ultegra. Not bad.

Today I think I diagnosed the creak in my bike as being the pedals... Now if i could just solve the squeak. Instead of riding today I'm gonna hike.

ThermionicScott 08-11-13 01:48 PM

Today I rode a ~20 mile loop on gravel and B service dirt roads with some buddies. I brought my fixed-gear, which I hadn't ridden in months and was uniquely unsuited for the steep gravel climbs and descents, as well as the heavily-rutted B roads. Kept things interesting. :thumb:

Yesterday I went on first ride with another BF user. Nice mellow pace 2 hour ride. Was close to bonking towards end, shoulda stopped at the taco truck before last couple of hills.

Kinda wishing I had a car so I could bring bikes needed to run both Beginner AND SS MTB races tomorrow.

today my girlfriends house almost burned down.
****ing pool filter of all things decided to burst into flames and grow real big real fast

http://distilleryimage7.s3.amazonaws...0ae811b0_7.jpg

if i hadnt ridden my bike (because i put it in the garage out back) instead of driving or walking noone wouldve noticed until the flames got inside and started to do some serious damage and really putting peoples lives in danger

bikes save lives.

Damn straight they do!

Nice to see [strike]you[/strike] your bike saw the fire before it spread inside. Your bike deserves a medal!
