Would go along too nicely with the e-MTB trend....
Not a fan when somebody on a e-bike just zooms past you without breaking a sweat while you're tackling a tough climb in low gears on the tip of your saddle nose for the last 20 minutes.

Today I got a screw through my tire 18 miles into a ride. On the bright side, I came close to my target time on one of the Strava segments I've been going for and the flat happened just down the street from a bike shop.

Nice luck there! I'm guessing you'll hit that time the next go around.

Looks fun. I'm sore from just reading about your ride. owchh

Thanks mouse. Also love it in Tucson when it's not too hot... I actually took a week off work this year for a mini training camp the week of Nov 12-18. I have family there so lodging is no biggie. I'm gonna ride Sabino (MTB), Mt. Lemmon (road), plus a couple of other MTB and road rides and of course El Tour. Cool place!

Hell yeah man! It's a great place to live and ride, I love it here, like you said when it's not scorching. It's actually finally starting to get nice out. Sounds like you have a week of fun planned. Definitely drop me a line while you're in town and we can ride to some good eats or somethin!

I’m waiting for a coat of clear to dry over polished steel on my “cheap unicorn” project so I can throw color fades on some areas. Shaved and filled water bottle holes, same with cable guides and front brake mount hole on forks.

Hit 4:11 this time and I'm shooting for sub-4:00, so it's definitely within reach.

Bikes: Pinarello FP Due, Cesare track bike modified for the street.

This weekend was the annual Bike MS City to Shore ride from ~Philadelphia to Ocean City, NJ. The weather was perfect! I put on my big boy gears (53/18) and had a blast. I managed to average 19 mph both days. For the 100 mile day 1 I rode mostly alone, although a couple of pacelines grabbed my wheel I did not join in the fun. I was cutting my own path most of the time. On the 75 mile day 2 return ride I fell into a couple of nice pacelines that were trucking along atT 21-22mph and I averaged 19 mph again. Not bad for an old guy on a fixed gear. It was a great ride for a good cause. On October 21 I will attempt the Bike MS NYC ride. I will shorten up the gear cince there is about 5k' of climbing in 100 miles.

The start of the City to Shore. One of 5 Starting Chutes.

Finish at Ocean City NJ.

At the start around 6:30 am.

Machined some bar end caps and then laser engraved them for project bike. Gotta re wrap bars cuz I messed the tape up popping these bad boys on and off again figuring out how to get a nice snug fit. Also layed down a couple layers of white base coat on the frame set before I throw the final color on, but no pic of that. I’

Today I took the track bike out for 23 miles on 49x15 with a couple 10 minute efforts. Hard ride, felt good.

Did more polishing on the crank arms / chainring. It’s not perfect, but I’m throwing in the towel and calling them ‘done’

Threw a set of old cages on the pedals, along with some REALLY bright straps that the mail man brought today. Didn’t expect them to be so crazy, but that’s okay!

Turned another cap on the lathe and engraved to match bar ends. This one is for headset though. (My name is Ty)

And then before heading home I added some pink to the frame and forks. Pink fade-splatter is on top of a frost white fade and raw steel. I'm not much of a painter, but it was fun! Some sanding and glossy hard clear coat(s) tomorrow... then hopefully start final assembly. I'm sure I'll think of other little tid bits to add before then

Edit*** I've got to start using my point and shoot or DSLR for pics... iphone does some funky crap to photo's***

Dude, that bike is going to be awesome. Can't wait to see it all put together. Where did you get the straps?

They're just the MKS cheapies, we'll have to see how they hold up!

Today I see my hematologist. Hopfully later I will be active and in little enough pain to go on a ride.

Today I did 50 miles, mostly endurance pace but I had to slam it a couple times when I accidentally went on some narrow sketchy roads that I then wanted to get off of as quick as possible. Didn't get run over and got a couple Strava trophies out of it, so
