I'm not at the liberty to expose the dirty little secret of how that is chosen though. |
I'd rather ride a VISP
edit: okay who played with my sig |
I also saw these in person at the chrome party in LA for the marathon crash. they look pretty good actually
|
i don't like cats. maybe i'll buy a visp and hope they choose kitten.

I know a little bit about where/how those frames are made and personally, I wouldn't ride one if it was free.
Fun fact: the "smooth welds" don't look like that in real life. |
Order one and see if you get those nice welds.

Sorry for the off-topic question.. But what's wrong with the Specialized Langster Pro?

Just preferences. |

Even if the welds are truly nice, the non-butted tubing and steel steerer are still going to make it a boat anchor. Like my VISP is 2.4 pounds heavier than my Leader 721, and the Leader frame is not particularly light either.
They give the weights as 3.75lbs for the frame and 1.2lbs for the fork, also. |

30 seconds in they claim it is double butted, as does the Aventon website. I'm curious how good these actually are, but not $349 worth of curious.

I don't know that I'd call a 540g fork a "boat anchor".
Also, that leader full carbon fork is advertised at .4lbs.......which is 181g.... it's lighter than an s-works fork? And a ritchey wcs fork? Hard to believe that fork weighs less than a set of wcs superlogic or enve drop bars.....!! |

^hence my skepticism.
I hate that some people are so jaded that a ~500g fork is considered "heavy". |
weight weenieisiiiissssssssmmmmmmmmmmmm

It's not so much that 500g is heavy for a road fork, as it is that 320g is light for a road fork.
i'd just about guarantee that there's more forks on the market they weigh more than 500g than there are that weigh less than that. |

You calling me a liar. I have one dude, you don't. I weighed it on a very accurate scale. It's really that light. Get over it.
And if it is, I'll get one for all my track bikes that it fits on. There are literally thousand dollar boutique road forks that are nearly a hundred grams heavier. |

I would also guarantee that more crap is sold than good stuff.
You heard it here first, guys! Not only is your 500g+ fork heavy, but its crap too! |
ok.
