Purchasing parts on Amazon?
So I need new handlebars for my bike. I found some that would be nice for a low price but I'm a little reluctant to purchase items off amazon. I've heard of a lot of counterfeit parts on Amazon and I was just wondering if I should buy it or not.
Here's the bars.

It's no different than buying third party via eBay. Amazon is just acting as a middleman to arrange the transaction with the actual seller. Also, it's not like those bars are anything exotic that would be worth counterfeiting.

Yep, Amazon's return policy and customer service is top notch. If something doesn't come as ordered, they will definitely take care of you. I'd worry less about amazon than ebay.
You might want to see if the 3rd party has a their own website though, you might find the bars for the same price and be able to use a coupon code or something to get them for even less.

I remember you saying that before and I've stopped buying bike parts from Amazon since then.

There are more than several different suppliers that have private, Amazon and eBarf "stores". It is usually a bit cheaper from the private site since there are no seller fees. The benefit to the buyer is that an oddball part can be purchased from an unknown seller with less risk.
I've found that if you buy from Upgrade Cycle Works in Chicago that you are fu,,,kd. (9400110200829835741956)
If you buy from Xtreame Bike & Sport in Kansas you will get super service if you order off of Amazon. If you order off of eBarf, it will take forever for the stuff to even get shipped. The prices on the private site are not in line with anything.
If you buy from Universal Cycles in Portland you get fantastic service and prices all the way around.
If you order from Retrogression you will get the best prices anywhere on what products they carry and the shipping is next to instant.

I've built a whole bike from the interweb. Never had any issues, maybe not shipping fast enough. But local bike shop support is more important then saving 2-10 bucks with free shipping. Local's go out and you will be buying crap from walmart. I don't buy bike parts from the web anymore.
