You're right as far as one piece lugs. (That's why I inserted the "umm".) I just think that the total package from Bohemian is more ornate. Yes, there are additions brazed on. However, lugs can be made as long as you want. They just may not be a stock OTC set of lugs. The Vanilla I'm having done will have lug points in the 4-5" range and they are all one piece, no add ons. Trick is that Sacha used two ss tubes mated together (at least I think that's how he did it.) and then carved those up to make my lugs. No such thing as a stock 5" lug, he just made them from scratch. Those are the headtube and seat tube lugs. The bottom bracket lug had the stock tips extended to 4". (Just another way of long tips that are one piece.)

I don't like overly-curvy things, so the newvex lugs kind of put me off. I like the pacentis because since you're painting them a different color, the extra metal will provide more space for contrast.

But given your feel (rambouillet), I might go with the Sachs lugs. They're much more ornate and rambouillet-style.

Keep in mind that the Sachs-alicious NEWVEX lugs are designed to be used as-is, whereas the Pacenti lugs are designed to be carved (although they can also be used as-is).

Darrell McCulloch (of Llewellyn Custom Bicycles) is doing some truly amazing ornate work in stainless steel, based off of Kirk Pacenti's lugs.

That said, some year, I'll be trying to get someone to build me a Paramount-inspired track frame with the Richie-issimo NEWVEX lugs.

I was at Waterford this morning - they were finishing up a Waterford with polished stainless steel Newvex lugs. It was real neat watching as they removed the masking from the lugs. Seeing those shiney lugs show up really brought the Metallic Green paint to life. Wish I had a camera along with me.

You have just made a monster of me. Those are the most kickass bikes i've ever seen.

All this intricate lug work has me thinking of a Giger-esque frame. It probably exists...
