Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? Thanks.
Funny that you mention that because that is what I used to use with a slipping seatpost I had. Certain stems come with a specially built shim. Maybe you could find one one eBay and use it on the Nitto. I have a one inch steerer too so I'm in the same boat.

Rats. I'm out on the Nitto stem. Coulda shimmed, woulda worked but I run a 26.0 bar and they're set up for 25.4. I'll probably get a Thomson +5 rise.

You know you can ship the clamp with an official Nitto shim? They're always on eBay or elsewhere.
