Also, folks who grew up in the '70s bike boom era are more likely to use inches, since that was the common unit of measurement at the time, just like they're more likely to use phrases like "ten speed", "rat trap" (i.e., toe clips), and "turkey levers" (i.e., what they used to have before cross levers were invented).

Well yeah. If I'm photographing something I want to sell, I'd want the pic to be attractive to help entice the buyer. I look at that and think, "If he treats his HOUSE that way, how well did he take care of the bike?"
