Yeah, it's definitely in the ultimate street cred category for fixie coolness. On pedalroom people just gush over them.
Same with the GT GTB/Pulse with the triple triangle. Both have gained this cult-like status. I will admit though, I am a huge sucker for the triple triangle. I remember as a kid just lusting over a late 80's Mongoose California Pro with gray splatter paint and a triple triangle...thought that looked sooooo cool. http://bmxmuseum.com/image/1989_mong...pro_asm_lg.jpg |
Reasonable price for a complete bike with free shipping, I think. If you are local, you might even want to haggle the price down lower since the seller doesn't have to ship it.

cdale track vs colossi al colossione? pretty sure they have the same geometry. There are numorous Ave Maldea builds on pdlrm with cdale geo. You can get a "cdale track" for much less of the asking prices for the original ones. Even the Major Taylor Cdale track frames are $500-$600 used.
Original cdale tracks are 20-25 year old aluminum frames. if they have been ridden for most of their lives, especially on the street, i'd expect some wear and tear, so it's crazy that people are still buying them and riding them. from what i've seen frames like this one (ie not pristine) tend to get passed around for awhile, people will buy it to ride it for a bit then flip it and be able to say they rode a cdale track. then someone eventually ends up using it as wall art. |

I probably wouldn't spend more than $800 on a C-Track, $1200 if it was in pristine condition. There are a plethora of frames pretty much identical to it in geo (Al Colossione, Superb Sprint, Heavypedal Zephyr, etc.). I've been thinking of getting an AC next, myself, actually. But the C-Track is probably the most overhyped frame out there.

The bigger point is that it is now a cult object / collector's item, so the people buying these are probably not doing so for the performance bang for the dollar.
|
I will also add that while I personally am not wild about aluminum, fillet brazing, or (what is now) classic Americana, for anyone who is, that's a pretty sweet combination that's pretty much unlike any other. Plus the factory blue paint is very easy on the eyes.

That Omnium is probably Peters, he's the only person I've ever seen on an Omnium. |
I just can't believe he's still got that Omnium frameset. If I had the cash, I'd buy it just to build up quick and flip it.
|
Maybe a bit pricey but the bike looks clean.
This guy advertises a lot of bikes locally on CL. http://images.craigslist.org/00p0p_l...4X_600x450.jpg Specialized Steel Frame Single Speed w/ FlipFlop Hub |

Dude wants $125, cosmetics are in rough condition but it's got a Cinelli Alter and the frame is Reynolds 853. Thank god it's not in my size or I'd be selling left and right

Not sure if real, but I *think* that is an honest to goodness Cinelli Superpista (not to be confused with Supercorsa Pista, which is further up the food chain).

Yeah - that looks like a real Super Pista to me although I'd like to see a trackend better to confirm...if it is, even with the janky build, it is a helluva deal at opening bid & not terrible BIN...
thedapperest - difference from SC Pista is most noticeably the seatpost cluster, as well as tubing & geo (slightly I think). Super Pistas have had different degrees of chroming over time - IIRC the most recent iterations have none, as well as fork being drilled for brake. sbdark has a very nice Cinelli Super Pista that he's posted around here a couple times recently... Edit...just noticed seller has 0 feedback - guess that merits some thought ;-) |

Was just going to post that ^
Awesome ride.. but the price seems kind of high, doesn't it? Especially with the "repaired" fork. |
As much as I do love those old Raleighs, that's a pretty dumb price.

Can I place a request in this thread? I'd love it if someone could let me know if they find a set of the old Mavic pursuits with the logo on them

I'm guessing that Mavic logo is important to him :p (Nothing wrong with that, IMO.)
