Thanks. I've had my eye on the EAI/Toyo Godzilla frameset but the only bad thing is it doesn't have cage braze ons.

You are not going to find bottle cage mounts on a serious track frame like the Toyo Godzilla. Also, frames like that are not very friendly for riding on the road, since they have a lot of front tire toe overlap.

So, I just bought a pair of 650c wheels from Wabi Cycles for my 42cm Wabi Lightning Scandium that takes 650c wheels. These are the new style wheels with bolt-on hubs, and are lighter than the original wheels with steel axles and nuts. They also have fewer spokes (20H front and 24H rear), which slightly reduces the weight and wind resistance. As soon as I placed the order, Wabi now shows them to be out-of-stock, so I guess I got the last and only pair they had. Interestingly, my PayPal receipt shows the seller as Spin Ventures, LLC, rather than Wabi Cycles.

All the wheels Wabi has are nice. My Sub-15 wheels were free when I bought my bike on their Black Friday sale. My pet peeve are straight gauge spokes, that's a sign of a lower end wheelset to me but all their wheels have 14/15 butted spokes. I would have been happy with their regular "Lightweight" wheelset.

Another upgrade component for my Wabi Lightning Scandium. At this point I have replaced every component on the bike except the front brake caliper. The stock cheap Leadtec stem was starting to look pretty ratty with its corroded bolts, and this new Nitto stem goes nicely with the other Nitto components (bar and seatpost). As soon as I get the stem and wheels (see post #4828) installed, I'll repost the bike.

Yeah, I have a pair of the standard 700c wheels on my khaki Soma Rush. I bought them back in the day from Richard Snook when Wabi was in California. These new wheels are my first purchase from the new Colorado Wabi, and it will be interesting to see if the build quality is as good as the original wheels. Stay tuned.

So, I received the Wabi 650c wheelset. and am very pleased with the build quality. They are perfectly round and true, and properly tensioned. The front wheel is perfectly centered, and the rear wheel is off by about 1/2 mm, which is insignificant. The wheels arrived within three days of placing the order, were packed in a proper wheel box with separators to keep them from rubbing against each other, and Wabi provided continuous information on shipping status. They did say that a signature would be required, however, FEDEX dropped it off at my front door without requesting a signature. The hubs and mounting hardware are very nice looking and all metal. The rims have a nice machined and grooved braking surface, and braking action is very smooth and positive with no grabbing. I think that the $295 asking price is reasonable, given how much the prices on bike parts have increased recently. This is my first experience purchasing something from the new Colorado Wabi, and I am happy to say that it has been very good. I have posted the bike with the new wheels and stem in the 2021 Post Your SSFG Thread, Post #263.

This was an impulse buy. With PayPal pay in 4 I was like you know what I want a fork like this and haven't really found much of what I am looking for and I love Justyne so why the heck not. It seems to be in excellent shape and will do the job quite nicely. Also bought some 7400 downtube levers off of her so I could get the Phil Wood bike properly running.

Brooks Leather Ring Grips - Honey color, Dia-Compe Tech 99 right brake lever - silver, Nitto B220AAF riser bar - silver

These parts are being used in a redo of the cockpit on my chrome Soma Rush, which currently has ugly Oury grips and a cross brake lever. These were necessitated because the current Nitto B260AA riser bar has a 23.8mm grip end diameter, and will not accept lock-on type grips or MTB style brake levers that require a 22.2mm diameter bar. The Nitto B220AAF is the same as the Nitto B260AA, except that its grip diameter is 22.2mm instead of 23.8mm. Props to Retrogression for finding these bars, which are not available in the USA to retail consumers and are pretty much out of stock worldwide. The honey color Brooks grips were chosen to match my Brooks Pro saddle, which is also honey color.

Update on 6/19/21 - Bars and brake lever arrived today. The smaller diameter 22.2m bar was so much easier to insert past the bends into my quill stem than the old 23.8mm bar, which ended up with a lot of ugly scratches. The brake lever will only allow for about 100mm for the right grip, but the left side of the bar end is long enough for a standard 130mm grip. The Brooks grips I've ordered are adjustable down to 80mm length and are 130mm stock out of the box, so I will have no problems. Fortunately, I have small hands, so the 100mm right grip should be long enough such that the entire width of my hand will rest on the grip. These are narrow bars, only 480mm wide, allowing me to get through tight spaces such as between cars in traffic. The Brooks grips are due to arrive next Wednesday from Amazon, and I'll post a photo of the bike when it's completed.

Ordered these from Wabi yesterday, they already shipped. Beware the ring requires a 1/8 chain. I mistakenly ordered a 3/32 because I didn't read the fine print. Wabi is sending me the correct chain and a return slip for the wrong one when I get it.

Just ordered an 18T WI freewheel to go with the new cranks. I've been running a 46/17 and the new cranks have a 48 so a 18 is just about the same gear inches, a tad easier to pedal. I should have just bought the Wabi Deluxe freewheel but I couldn't help myself.

WI says the 18T works with both a 3/32 and 1/8 chain so I hope it's quiet. Never ran a 1/8 before.

I've got the same exact setup on my Kilo WT; 1/8" chain and chainring with a WI 3/32" freewheel. Darned if I can tell the difference between this setup and my other bikes with an all 1/8" or 3/32" drivetrain. However, the WI freewheel itself is definitely noisy, sounding like a swarm of angry hornets.
