I bought METALLIC paint, hell yeah, sh*t would glitter like diamonds in the sun! After about 6 cans, you could throw my bike (if you could lift it) off a bridge and not break through ALL the layers of paint!

I am so done with you bunch of born as an adult meanies!
Take it you are 15 now and going through that rebel phase of "I was 14 once, it was tough"

So taking it from the comments I've read.. does this mean that stereotyping fixie riders as Smartass / saracastic / ironic hipsters is fairly accurate? I just want to make sure everybody else thinks like I do.

I like that.

I was hoping SOMEONE would see the tongue-in-cheek to my response.

The game now is getting him to respond.

1. I ride a sw8 fixxxay
2. My ass is so smart it has a special helmet to protect it from saddle damage.
3. Not usually, but when I am sarcastic I know how to spell it.
4. Like my friend told me "Jeremy, hipsters act like dorks to be ironic, you act like a dork because you are one." (Yeah, I'm the OD)

As an elderly gent who rides a fixed gear bike on the road & posts in this forum I have two questions for you:

1) The traditional winter training for serious club riders is to ride FG, do you?

b) If you don't know how to spell "sarcastic" are you aware that Spell Check will help?

No and no. I was mostly joking but i am curious as to why this specific sub forum has a disclaimer of users being sarcastic, witty and smartasses. It seems to me like the hipsters ive met fit the bill quite well and usually ride fixed gear. It pretty much leads itself to it. I've never wandered here before so i am doing so based on the actual disclaimer and opinion of one sole poster.

FYI, people who throw the word "hipster" around usually have no idea what they're talking about.

Just feel bad for the poor kid. Anyhow, i have nothing against fixed gear people and i think they are actualy cool. This has been my roughest discussion in a forum since 2007

Bikes: ones with two wheels

at first i thought it wasnt terrible, then i read some comments and realized that the op didnt do much besides take the wheels off. Then recommended not stripping the paint and next time will just paint over the excising paint.

You get my office. I think the word respect has no meaning anymore. Dog eats dog world no matter who you are. I am 26yo so I shouldn't be talking much, but I don't agree with talking down to anybody to show your worth. However, due to hearing it so much I've found myself using constant sarcasm and putting down others in my own personal life outside of work. Hate myself for it but it has been absorbed from my work environment.

While everyone may have been a little hard on the kid, he previously asked for advice and then completely disregarded it.
All bets are off at that point, regardless if the thread is full of sarcastic jackasses or not.

I like the "help me spend my tax return on some street cred" threads the most.
