Looks okay to me, at least he tried. I guess that there are people here that don't remember when they were first starting out but yet they know it all.

The problem is that we collectively tried to help him in his previous threads, as stated in post 13 and 14 of this one. His blatant ignorance is far from anyone's fault but his own.

Finally, wheels with polished/silver box section rims, spokes, and hubs.

Unless you're trying to make your bike even more garish with the spray paint...
From the original thread. Sums it up.

i didn't forget....
but i also never rattlecanned an entire bike...without moving necessary parts (bearings/cups/etc...)
there's a difference between learning and jackassery.

Spend time on most automotive forums and you see people do similar things on a far more expensive scale. It's a human thing.

Maybe he was just trying to do something outside the box. I've only been on this forum for a couple of years but I've seen pictures of other bikes where everything was painted and it didn't look like anything was taken off them either. But to each his own. I guess that we are all human and the best thing is that if you are not sure what people are going to say about a project that you are working on then don't put it on public display. I have a 1967 Raleigh Sport that I am redoing and I've heard some say to leave it the way it is with the rust spots and others say to repaint it so I guess it is best to do it the way I want to and just enjoy it myself or face a lot of unneeded criticism.

I just don't get why he removed what he did and then left the rest. Makes no sense to me. And then the finished product has giant flaws with dripped and crackling paint...sand that **** down and redo it.

I confess I thought the original bike was utterly horrid while the end result only has redeeming features from a distance. Sure, we all screw things up and often wonder why we bothered starting in the first place. This bloke though, seemed to want people to fall all over him for doing a really dreadful job, he just didn't realise that those falling on him would be wielding clubs when they did so.

Seriously OP, good on you for having a go but please, show a bit of thought, particularly before you post a thread about it.

FYI, the bubbling came from improper adhesion to the surface, you probably didn't clean the bike well enough after you stripped it. Spraying too close will result in a drip/run.

I'm kind of sad I didn't receive a pm before you went through with it. I can forgive, but I can't forget.

Thanks.

And to all others, I know it looks pretty wack, but at least I myself am much happier with it than the other version.

I simply didn't have the time and money to just pretty much scrap the bike entirely and build up an entirely new one, so I went for this 20$ option.
Finally, there were 1 or 2 helpful posts in my other thread, and that was pretty much it. Cya'all

Also, consider that you were asking "what color" rather than "How do I paint it?" The first is entirely subjective, the second… would probably still get you snark, but it's a question that has been answered repeatedly and for which the answer can be found pretty easily on Google.

For Example...

then, on page 2…

Here's another walk through on how to paint a bike.

You guys are d*cks....weren't YOU 14 once??? I did the same sh*t when I was 14....screw taking off cranks and stems, just spray when the wind stops...is it that hard? Lick your finger and stick it in the air! No wind? Spray near the critical parts. No plastic either. Coat hangers in the basement. After the 3rd can, I didn't even need to look anymore. I could feel where the paint was going to land, unless the cross breeze kicked in with my window and door open.

I bought METALLIC paint, hell yeah, sh*t would glitter like diamonds in the sun! After about 6 cans, you could throw my bike (if you could lift it) off a bridge and not break through ALL the layers of paint!

I am so done with you bunch of born as an adult meanies!
