juvi-kyle is definitely interested so if you want to go ahead and split it with him, do it. juvi-kyle, when were you thinking about ordering? tristan |

juvi-kyle, when were you thinking about ordering? tristan Which frame did you pick up from Raygunner, the Miyata? Pista Concept? I'd probably be up for it in a few weeks though, we'll see how it goes. Keep us posted please shants! |
Yeah, what frame?!
The Masi? |
The BMX?!
|
I sold the Masi to a guy named Max.
The KHS went to Juvi-Kyle. I sold a BMX frame the other day. |
hey kids -- i just got back from the post office after mailing out the money order to ogata shinji at framebank. i sent it global priority, so it should be there within 6 business days. fingers are crossed.
i asked the woman at the post office what she thought about potential customs issues with receiving a bike frame from japan. she said that, like others have, that whether or not it even gets questioned is really just contingent upon whim. so, if the customs guy's father was blown away by a japanese guy riding a bicycle in the pacific theatre of WWII, you might get screwed, but who knows. although she admitted that she didn't know exact rates for items from every country, she said that it should definitely be no more than ~20 if the frame is declared at $410 -- the price paid before shipping. granted, i've already spent a chunk of change on the frame, but i can absorb $20 in the case of bad luck. we'll see how it goes. |
Well Aaron also use to be buddy of mine, until he started making BULLET BELTS and buying frames without telling me. I think it is best that we all hold off till we see what happens with Aaron's purchase, he kind of looks like a Ginny Pigglette.

what's the largest size frame you guys have seen on there? i only just started peeping around framebank so i'm not too familiar... seems like there's no such thing as a 59 or 60cm keirin frame.
|
Are you looking at the top tube length, or seat tube? Top tube is more important, you can just raise ur seat up if seat tube is too short.
The thing I don't like is the colors, apperently they like bright outstanding colors. I don't want to have it repainted and loose the decals. |

Seat tube is just as important.. crack a seat tube and you will see wh |

Q: drac_vamp stated "has this been covered before: price for hatta bb and headset in japan? used? new?"
A: Almost the same as in the states for new used depends on condition. Go to goole and put in that name E frame bank then it states to translate this page. Q: luckycat stated, Yeah, but not too many. Also pay close attention to the seat and top tube sizes, some of them are a little weird. Like the 59cm gold Vivalo(#5901), the seat tube is 595 and the top tube is 525, maybe the 79.5 degree seat angle has something to do with it. A: Like most people of the world some people have short torsos. Some are made with mistakes also. some do have steep angles .like the one I show Fixed Not Broken that had a 80 seat tube angle. C&C: yeah, like ceya said the headset/bottombracket shipped with the bike. usually depends on what the previous owner had installed, so they vary between hatta/shimano/sugino/suntour etc.
shants: which one did you get, was it the ganwell pro? mouton: which did you get from reload? pics all around mother****ers! baxtefer/luckycat: if that makino weren't all crazy sized i'd tell you to snatch it up. for anyone who doesn't know, makino was yoshi konno's factory manager when 3rensho was still in the biz. he (and i assume konno also) oversaw the building of all 3rensho frames. after 3rensho closed, makino took over and started making frames under his own name. i would probably put them up there with any kalavinka or 3rensho frame as far as quality, and whenever i see one pop up on e-framebank it usually gets snatched up pretty fast. i actually saw a fully built one go on ebay for like $1500 last winter. one word of advice i can give is make sure the frame isn't dented (unless you don't mind). a lot of the frames on e-framebank have dented top tubes, which is why they've been given up for sale. make sure you check the google translation of the description. |
Frames from the Framebank come with headset and bottom bracket unless otherwise noted. That was my understanding anyway. I'm almost positive I read that on there.

Most dents are small. Japanese won't sell anything with major dents or crimps unless you plead with them They consider major damage unsafe. We consider them a bargain. S/F< CEYA! |
