Indeed. Send some pics of that "OLD BIKE FRAME".

BostonFixed 06-10-05 10:27 AM

i e-mailed shinji in english to ask him if i could buy the frame. he said to formally agree to buy. i sent him an e-mail in broken ass japanese telling him that i would fill out the online form and submit it. so i filled out the on-site form in japanese, submitted it. later, when i sent the money order (with a letter in japanese), i e-mailed in japanese again and asked them to tell me when it shipped. i then received an e-mail in engilsh saying that it shipped and that it should arrive in 3-4 business days. it did.

Are you going to name it Kazu?

I received my frame from them this morning as well. WOO! I opened my door and saw a Nagasawa branded box sitting there. Not a bad way to start a day. And the packaging was insanely good. Frame was in perfect shape, and there were no duty fees or anything.

auk 06-10-05 12:52 PM

shants and TNCLR are both making me shiver waiting for pics to be posted. Congrats to both of you. <grumble, grumble>

BostonFixed 06-10-05 12:52 PM

TNCLR: pics?

shants 06-10-05 01:04 PM

TNCLR 06-10-05 01:25 PM

okay - i don't know you TNCLR, but i hate you (i think). i'm pretty sure that was the frame I was looking at, it's like a 52-53ish cm frame, right?

just kidding man, it's beautiful. i'm totally jealous.

thanks for the compliments.

yeah, it's a 53. there's another one up there though. it's identical except it has some yellow accents instead of blue.

oh! excellent! let me know how your new baby rides.

shants 06-11-05 07:25 AM

sorry about the picture delay... after work i ended up getting wasted. alas. anyhow, the bike came and looks like it's seriously never been ridden. there is only one very very small location on the tip of a bottom bracket lug, where some paint has chipped. the rest of the job is totally pristine, all the way down to the silly foil decals that are on it.. clearcoated and glittered the hell out:

i don't have it built up yet or anything. i have a full dura ace group, minus the headset (which is a hatta swan super deluxe), going on the beast once I receive a bike in the mail to harvest. my hubs, though, aren't 36H, so they're not NJS.

best thing ever -- everywhere that there is a Makino logo, there is this totally ridiculous motto printed under it: "THE POSSIBILITY IS FOR VICTORY IS UNLIMITED."

enjoy.

potus 06-11-05 07:55 AM

oh *****, not the momo special! in Japanese 'momo' can mean either 'peach' or 'thigh'. take your pick.

shants 06-11-05 08:27 AM

bow down to the thigh special. haha

beatifik 06-11-05 09:31 AM

man, that seat tube looks ridiculously steep.

mcatano 06-11-05 10:07 AM

That bike is putting out some serious Sailor Moon vibes. Wicked.

teadoggg 06-12-05 11:16 AM

Okay - I'm a sucker so I think i'm going to buy one of these. Who is the chicagoland area is in with me? I want to snap one up before they decided to stop shipping to the US again. They reduce the shipping cost for two frames, correct?

Get back to me ASAP if you're interested. i want to do this now.
