Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Brakeless gets you more free lunch.

Bikes: Several, mostly not name brands.

I prefer both front and rear, but its a fixed gear, so if you insist on only one caliper put it on the front since you can use your legs to brake the rear wheel.

Don't use brakes but have a front just in case. I hate the way rear brakes look having the cable all the way across the top tube.

I do love the look of a set of track drops without brakes.

When I used a brake, I had it on the front. Can't see the point of a rear brake.

Presently ride no brake. Invested 5 years in learning to ride brakeless. Geared way down to 63 gear inches. Do the Zen thing. Really.
