old bike reuild

hello peeps, seems as though the bmx forum is dead, or atleast a little less active as the single gear forum.

so anyway, ive recently taken the stem off my road bike to cater for wider bars. im currently undergoing a rebuild of an old bmx bike, would this stem be suitable for the bmx? or should i buy a proper bmx stem?

If you will be using the BMX bike for serious thrashing about, I'd reccomend something designed for that.

In that case, give it a go and when it doesn't work, go to your nearest bike kitchen or other place that fixes up old bikes and see if you can get a second hand stem. Of course, you could buy a new one but that sounds like it might be a silly suggestion

lol everyone on these forums seems to have a very sarcastic look to questions.

tbh the handlebars i have are quite flat >Link< these but in black. i think with the stem i have they might end up being too far forward. i think if i got a nice little stem it should be good reach wise. the stem i have taken off my road bike is this.
