Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

The first pic is Kevin Schwantz chasing Wayne Rainey......and wayne is airborn in a chicane, so I cut him some slack.

The third pic was not bad either.

I still act like a 15 year old boy when I see an nice bicycle or a sanitary racing motorcycle too. I have an especially erotic passion for beautiful safety wire art.

Honestly, that's probably just a model for the ad, and NOT a mechanic. Cinelli Gear/Park Tool plain sight. But who knows, maybe I'm wrong.

Let's get back on track here - criticizing this "fixie" blog.

First beef - it seems to be a blog about a bunch of random crap, not just fixed gear bikes.

Beef Jr - "fixie"

Beef III - it's making all of us snarky jerks snipe at each other instead of the OP.

Haha yeah true.

She doesn't look like she is looking in the right direction to be truing that wheel. Don't most people do that with the tire off?

If you really want to get technical, those are bladed spokes, which need to be held to prevent twisting when the nipple is turned. Oops, did I say "nipple" ?
