Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

front & rear integrated lighting - enjoy

figured some of you would have fun doin' or taking it to another level. it's been sitting in my head for years, after some half ass attempts i bit the bullet and drilled a 1/32" hole in the steering tube of my fork for one 32 gauge wire to clear. used my frame as the second wire to successfully relocate an LED from a 2 LED flasher powered by an iphone battery.

no more coin cell crap, no more ugly mutant LED flashers to attach or lose. enjoy!

Nice.

I'd goop over that pcb board though to protect it from the elements along with some shrink tubing on the wires.. How's it powered exactly? Like its plugged into an iphone or you ripped one apart to use the battery?

iphone 3gs LiPo battery directly soldered to pcb from typical push button bike flasher. (this one was powered by 2 coin cells in series).

initially i was goin' to use the those enclosed lithium batteries with integrated recharger for phones/usb stuff. decided not to mess w/ all the extra wires, bulk, mounting etc. although it would be a proper setup for a 'packaged kit'

one cell phone battery should last till somethin' else breaks. although it's tough to see, but hot glue is gooped over the solder points and holds the pcb to the bottom of the battery. agree with your advice on shrink wrapping/more goop though. possibly for the next person who dabbles w/ a similar setup.

i'm done w/ it, lol.

I would not trust hot glue to keep it together against the vibrations of riding. You need some mechanical support/fastening.
