Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

I'm getting ready to build up my IRO (as soon as it arives) with a Tsunami bar (26.0) and I figured I could just use the Ritchey stem off my CX bike in the interim....wrong it's mtb size! Arrrgh...I have 2 nice quills w/ 26.0 clamp, but I need a threadless! That'll P.O. the wife..."Are you DONE buying stuff?!" It really doesn't help things now that she's pregnant...hehe!!

Time for another beer...

is it that your bars wont fit in the stem b/c the diameter of the bars is too small?? if so, get some shims for the bars. i have that on two of my bikes.

You should be able to fir a 26.0 in a 25.4 - it might not clamp down all the way but as long as you tighten the bolts properly you'll be fine. Granted, I wouldn't do this on a two bolt stem. A four would be better.

No...

MTB stem = 25.4
Tsunami Bullhorns (Syntace Stratos) = 26.0

2-bolt stem...I'm not that brave anyway...hehe
