Great local bike shop (not a chain) LINK
They have some good links to rides & clubs on the website.

If you are interested in older bikes, you definitely need to make a trip to the store. The owner, Dale Brown, also moderates the Classic Rendezvous web group, and is just an all-around nice guy.

But I'm not local, so not much help beyond this.

check out the google group "triad ride list": https://groups.google.com/forum/#!forum/triadcycling

The Wednesday night ride from Chick Fil A is great for all different speeds.
If you're fast (20+) the Tuesday and Thursday night rides from downtown are good and there are several different pace rides available on the weekend from Performance Bike, Trek, and probably a few others.

Welcome to town,

Phillip
