In the past I always have different computers on all my bikes. Don't ask me why. After my last computer bit the dust I decided to just buy a second bike kit and use the same computer on all my bikes. I have a Sigma 1909STS. I keep the computer with my helmet so I won't forget it when I leave home for a ride. One helmet, one pair of riding shoes, one computer, one RoadID -- keeps life simple.

Looks like Sunday will be a great day for riding. I wish the Superbowl would start earlier (like 1 or 2 PM) so all the idiots would be off the road while I'm riding.

Today looks like an awesome day for riding. I'll be out there on the Specialized. Who else is riding?
Was General Lee right? Is spring right around the corner? If it is I sure won't complain.

I didn't ride this weekend or much last week at all. I bought soem storage units this weekend and that pretty much consumed all my weekend.

Today looks even nicer and if I had a bike and weren't sick, I'd be out there! Crap!!!!!!!!!!

Has anyone checked the 10 day forecast? Is spring coming early?

I hope it continues through February 29th. That's the date of Biking Bleckley, which will be my first century (well 30-60 mile option) of the year.

Speaking of weather, I got the latest issue of Bicycling magazine and on the last page it had weather forecasts of a bunch of cities and a little blurb about each one. For Atlanta, it said something like 'it still sucks to ride there'. Whats up with that!?!?

Ignorance--they don't live here and they don't where to ride.

Back in 2003 or 2004 Bicycling mag voted Atlanta as the worst city in America for cycling. I think Atlanta moved up to 3rd worst a year or two later.
Who would have guessed??

When I worked in Norcross I'd ride quite often during my lunch hour. I had a whole hour for lunch so took advantage of it.

Congrats on the new bike. What bike did you get? Where did you buy it? Got pics?

I highly recommend Biking Bleckley. I chose the 52 mile option. A very good initial century to start the season. When they say "gently rolling hills" the hills were actually rolling gently. The weather was perfect. I usually show up to centuries and sign in about an hour after the group start. I'd just rather not be in the group. I've never had a problem with this at other rides. But yesterday, they closed all the rest stops pretty much after the initial group went through. I was hardly going slow. So it's a good thing I had cliff bars with me. I had to stop at a convenience store for water and powerade. That's my only gripe.

Nice pics. I hope you'll start earlier next time so you won't have to bring/buy your own snacks for the ride.

I dunno if the guy with the PBP jersey that stopped to help me when I was trying to figure out directions Saturday is on here or not. But his advice re Church Street in Decatur helped me complete my Duluth to Decatur ride.

Many thanks!

Sorry guys have been recuperating. Solo bike accident 2/2 on commute home leaving Emory Clairmont campus. Broke collarbone (had to pin back together with titanium plate... Now I have Ti parts.), 2 ribs and collapsed lung put me in hospital for 10 days of no fun. Have been out of commission until today 2/28. First day back work. Bike is going to be retired to stationary bike duty. can't do anything until April. If I get back into bike it will be on new bike and i 'll likely give up my commute for a while. :-(

How long do I have to wait to really heal up from all this damage? Bleh. Hate not riding.

I'm curious if anyone knows what is blooming in some of the pictures I posted. The guy I was riding with said it must be the cotton blooming, but I don't think cotton flowers are purple. Anyone know what it might be?
