Hi from Knoxville
I'm a new cyclist from Knoxville. Does it just seem this way to me because I have started riding myself, or are there more cyclists in Knoxville than ever?

Knoxville Regional Bicycle Program
Hello to everyone in Knox, Blount and Anderson counties! Hopefully many of you are already aware that there is a Bicycle Program that is working to make biking safer and more convenient. Tons of info is on our website, www.knoxtrans.org (look under Programs). We just had a beginner, family friendly ride on Saturday with about 190 people (despite the impending rain!). We have an adopted Bicycle Plan for the region, a Bicycle Advisory Committee, and many great programs and events. If you want to keep up with our happenings, just send me an email, or become a fan on facebook.
For those of you who bike to work or school, you should enroll in the Smart Trips program so you can earn rewards for your efforts! www.knoxsmarttrips.org It's free!

So who is doing Jack and Back this weekend? I'll be with the 'Trace bikes team, riding my M2... it's sorta steel-blue colored w/ a nekked fork and downtube shifters... bontrager racelite tires (w/ the gray shoulders on em) - Say hi as you pass me. (I have a feeling the ride is totally going to kick my butt) My wife will be helping out at the 'Trace bikes waterin' hole. It's at Elrods cabinets or something like that... (edit: oh, btw - I'll have on Hammer shorts both days.. can't miss em in a sea of black!)

Must be a slow day with the clays! Or maybe you can't find ammo
Either way, welcome. Enjoy the fall scenery.

Not a slow day... done with shooting for this year, I'll pick it up again in the spring. Ammo... I reload but the issue has been the same... finding components, but I've got enough for next year anyway, except maybe some 7.5's.
Tks,
Tks,

welcome aboard trapshooter. I'm in Knoxville too. Get some warm clothes and you won't find too many days you can't ride....not like we're in Canada or something. I'd recommend the SMWbike.org site and the route book for rides around here, if you're not already tuned in to those.

To the person riding the bicycle that was hit in the back with a full can of beer thrown from a 45 mph car. My two jerk cousins did it and bragged about it and laughed they thought is was funny watching you wreck and get hurt.

I called the murfreesboro police department. Initially the operator told me to get with the records department to find out if there was a police report filed. Records department told me to get with a detective to see if there was an open investigation, and transferred my call to someone who answered as "investigations" - and she suggested I contact dispatch to find out if there was a report filed on it and gave me the number for dispatch. I called dispatch and the lady there said she could look it up if she knew where the accident had occurred, but needed more information than that a cyclist was injured when struck by a beer can from a moving car. So... that's enough of a runaround for me.

Nashville
Hey Yall, daily commuter in Nashville. I love riding downtown and crossing the river to the east side. Riding a Gary Fisher mountain bike but looking for a good road bike to use for touring and long rides. Want to some day ride to Knoxville. The whole Cumberland plateau thing is a little intimidating.

I'm still thinking of a Knoxville-Chattanooga road trip. Maybe the TN folks could all plan a weekend to meet in Chattanooga?
