But all your "Yeah, I rode today" entries are embarrassing me! Guess this member of Team OFMIS, (Old Fat Men In Spandex), better get back on his bike! |
thanks! i rode again today. felt pretty good after 9.5hr sleep last night. 33 hilly miles/1:50hr. off tomorrow & possibly tuesday. |
38 miles today, 2:15. Easy relaxing ride.
|
Rode with my riding buddies after work. We got in 27 miles. Windy and starting to cool down again. Laid off for 3 days felt good to ride again.
|
only 13mi this evening, but i don't really worry about mileage when i'm doing intervals, which is what i did this evening.
|
17mi in the cold wind.
|
that a lot of miles
Wow. I can't wait to get to 27 or 36 miles. We are new and rode about 10 miles today, maybe not even. How do you all measure your distance - on a map or do you attach something to the bike?
|
personally, i use a powertap, which measures my power, speed, cadence, hr, distance, ride time, etc. most use some sort of cyclometer to measure distance and time ridden.

there are many ways to measure your distance, you can use a map, a website such as mapmyride.com, or like most of us, you can mount any of a number of cycle computers, from the most basic of time/speed/distance to a full on gps type. Here is the one I'm using Cateye Strada Wireless |
No.

17mi, sunny skies, much wind.
|
Braved the windtunnel for 22 miles.
|
Sun was shining Saturday. Wind close to 10 mph and a cold nip in the air. Saw more cyclist out yesterday enjoying the countryside. We ended up with 41 miles.
|
23 miles this morning just to get the kinks out. It was kinda cold in the 50's and windy.
|
34mi in 25mph gusty winds. majority was head/crosswinds.

Distance makes you lean, Hills make you strong, But the wind makes you MEAN! :D |
30.5mi. VO2 max intervals and 1x20'. all i had time for; was supposed to do 2x20, but was running out of light and my hands and toes were froze.
|
only 15.5mi this evening. recovery ride. i need warmer weather. when i finished the ride, it was down to 43F. ok...i know that's not really cold, actually it could be balmy, but i'm having a hard time getting adjusted to these temps. i'd prefer temps between 65-85F. is there somewhere i can live where the temps are like that??? :p

Commuter bike ride just to get out there
Primary ride; Cridhe Fairche (HeartHammer) is still locked down in the trainer so it was just me and Shillelagh Law out doin it up. Met one other rider the entire time.
Did somewhere between 30-35 miles this afternoon. Low 50's and 10-12mph headwind. Under Armour is the next best thing to Gortex! It was fun both ways. Getting ready for the Face of America Bike Ride on April 25 and 26. |

http://www.weather.com/weather/tenda...nav_undeclared The biggest issue is not the sustained cold, but the variation of nearly 30 deg change can make it worse than it is. I've been fighting the funk for the last few weeks so I've not been riding lsd's or elsewise, but my short daily commute has been happening all the same. |
