Back to my normal ride, 22.5 miles. Nice morning here, just a bit of a headwind on the way south.

Nice morning, although there were some nasty looking clouds blowing in off the Gulf. Rode 20.4 miles.

left at 5:40am - did 32 miles. I planned on a longer route via my usual Narrows of the Harpeth route, and had printed it out w/ google maps but could not find the road I was after and wound up doing the usual route and then added a few more miles closer to home.

Sometimes I outsmart myself.
Did 29.7 (can I call it 30?) this morning on a route I mapped out for myself (https://bikeroutetoaster.com/Course.aspx?course=69434). For those familiar with the area of Alpharetta GA the route included McGinnis Ferry, Morris Road, and Webb Road. I then cut through the neighborhood of Hopewell Plantation (beautiful homes!) to get to Hopewell Road. From there my plan was to head south into central Alpharetta, turn left on Academy Street, and head home. I chose this route specifically to avoid riding on Alpharetta Hwy/Main Street through town. Well guess what today was? It was the annual "Old Soldier's Day Parade" and southbound Main Street was closed to stage the participants. And where did all the traffic end up? Hopewell Road!
With Hopewell hopelessly backed up, I asked one of the friendly Alpharetta policemen if I could ride down Main St. to get to Academy. His reply was "On a bike, sure! Just pretend like you're in the parade." Funny! Since all the southbound lanes were blocked off I actually had a very pleasant ride down Main St. I just had to go slow and dodge all the people standing around the floats.

Set out to do an 80km ride west along the lake shore here. Ended up riding 110km to Burlington downtown waterfront and back - felt great. The last 3km took 25 minutes because I ran smack into the Caribana parade and was basically going at walking pace trying to get through the throngs of revelers. Well ok, I was slightly distracted by all the bikinis, too...

36 miles this morning... the loop I did turned out to be too short (only about 24) so I went out and back on a highway near the house to add more miles. I really don't like riding on highways after all this back-road riding I've been doing. It's not so much the traffic, but the lack of an intimate feeling, and the trash along the shoulders.

I rode 38.7 miles yesterday, which is a long ride for me. That gave me 108.4 for the week. Getting in the groove now as I have ridden more than 100 miles each of the last three weeks. Today I only rode 16.7 miles as a recovery day. Another beautiful morning!
After I got cleaned up, I took my bike stand out to the front yard under a tree and started washing and lubing bikes. My OCR3 was pretty grungy as a lot of my rides lately have been on wet pavement. My wife and sons Trek mountain bikes both hadn't been cleaned in ages, so I did those as well. Now I just need the time (and energy) to clean up my old Puch.

Took yesterday off, legs didn't feel good. I wanted to ride 20+ today, but a big black cloud was following me down the trail. I took that as an omen and cut it short, only 16.7 miles. Having spent over an hour on Sunday cleaning my bike, I really didn't want to do it again!

Did a paltry 27 miles today. Decided not to take the Camelbak since the temp was only 82F when I left home. What a mistake!! The temperature and humidity really drained me. It was 90F when I got home. Ended up drinking 4 bottles of water during the ride. Thank goodness they have water fountains at Stone Mountain so I could refill both my bottles for the ride home.

went around the neighborhood w/ the 11 year old, finally got her on the road bike! She's all excited about it now, and even manages gear changes pretty well. Went out the first time on my road bike and came back home, swapped out to my mtb w/ the trailer and we went out again w/ the 2.5 year old in tow. Maybe 3 miles total but very exciting.

This was a bad week, missed three days due to life interfering with my ride schedule. Finally got out this morning again and rode down to Inverness on the Withlacoochee Trail, 32.7 miles round trip. Head wind all the way south, then it turned and came from the side for the return ride. My legs didn't feel all that strong despite three days off, I was really hoping for that tail wind on the way back!

71 miles today. The group kept having to make unscheduled stops - 4 flats, and we didn't make it back until 2:00. Hot, Hot 95F, and humid. I was dead at the end. Hit our last nice long hill -aptly called Cemetary Hill, at mile 65.

Yes I did. Decided to try out a hybrid to ride the Withlachochee. Rented one in Inverness and worked our way south about 13 miles. Nice ride. I think I'm going to save my $$ up for one of these. So much easier to ride on a paved trail vs my mountain bike. (Hey, I'm new to this. ) ;-)
