Genesee to Sorrento Valley I-5 Shoulder Conditions

Does anyone know of the current construction status for this segment? I am planning an afternoon commute from Old Town to the Sorrento Valley Coaster station, but know there is some construction going on there right now. Would any one recommend against it today, Monday, 9/14?

there is construction in the area but the wide riding shoulder seems largely unaffected. rode it from genesee to sorrento valley a week ago. i remember thinking there should be debris on the segment and to watch out but i didn't come across any. it's roughly a mile long and the off ramp is steeper downhill than the freeway segment.

Cool, I've done it before. As an alternate I would have headed east on Nobel and taken Carrol Rd over.

i know it seems counterintuitive, but the freeway route from genesee to sorrento valley (or vice versa) seems safer than hopping
from nobel to carroll/camino santa fe via that miramar rd. stretch. miramar road always seems to have plenty of debris in the bike lane,
high-speed traffic in closer proximity than the freeway route and crappy pavement.

let me know if it's still good as i was planning on using that freeway segment on thursday. happy commuting!
