Karen - I'll PM you my cell number and I remember what you and Tony look like.

Sean - That sucks! But are you at least sending the hot 21 year old to ride? He'll still need companions, won't he?

Delta IV launch from Vandenberg, Nov 4 @ 5:52-6:02 AM

There will be a Delta IV Launch from Vandenberg this Saturday. The Delta IV is one of the largest rockets the U.S. uses to launch satelites. It should be a spectacular sight.

That should be awesome, as long as there is no fog tonight. Hope we can see it as we drive up.

Equally as awesome, here is the weather report for Solvang tomorrow. 0% chance of moisture.

Hey M.E.

Just a follow-up on my plans for Saturday, a couple of people bailed, still looks to be about 6-8 people. I'm guessing this ride will be more of a fun ride, in the past some of my centuries with this group have been a hammerfest. Normally, we would start right at the official start time. It looks like tomorrow we will be starting about 8:00. I still plan on being there about 7:00 in the morning. I'll call you on your cell in the AM.

We are still going to do that variation of the route that I was telling you about. If you and the other forum members want to ride with us great, the more the merrier.

See you tomorrow.

Is that the variation where you do the final climb first and then the rest of the route? I might have had something come up (family issue), but I'll let you guys know by this evening for sure.

I'd be up for the variation. And the group just keeps getting smaller and smaller...

Yeah, I'll try and tone it down so that you don't suddenly pull over and kick me out of the passenger side! And in all seriousness, it's still going to be fun! I can't wait.

Sorry I didn't post, the bike forums was down for me from about 7pm until I went to bed last night. For now I'm spending my money on getting the bike in road worthy condition and stuff. Basically put, I found out my handlebar might have also been screwed up in the crash, and my wife is allowing me to use the money this ride would have cost towards a bar and a new helmet, and maybe a headlamp! I do plan on doing a century next year, and I will actually plan ahead and preregister for that.

Or just do one of the centuries we do as a group on BikeForums, free of registration costs. Like the Burrito Century coming up on Dec 10. That one will only cost the Amtrak ride back since it's a one way trip.
