Look like Performance is offering double points this Weds - Sat. Our timing sucks. Yes, yes... he bought his bike at Performance.

No worries. 90-day price guarantee. Just go back and get it applied.

Thanks for letting me know... I'll do that. I also price matched against their website and there were several items priced lower that I'm going to bring in!

Also, update on my new saddle. Yesterday's ride was a good indicator on whether it will work for me or not. After several miles, I thought the tilt could be slightly adjusted. I nominated voltman to help me out. :) His "loosen the seat, let it jumble around, then re-tighten" ended up working out pretty good! :roflmao:  :roflmao:

It was a pretty comfortable ride. Sit-bones pretty tender today but I think that's to be expected considering they weren't used to being supported on previous rides.

Purple with Black Iridium.

I like my Black Iridium lenses, but I swapped them out for cycling.

For why?

So did you just buy different lenses? We get a killer deal through James' work and can get $100 off of sunglasses every year. He just picked up some $160 Ray Ban's today and called to tell me that they could order the Oakley's that I want so our cost is next to nothing on them.

Nice! I had some credit left at Roger Dunn, so I used it to get the lenses. The lenses are $40-60 I think if you want to swap them later on. That's the nice thing about the Half Jackets.

DaveSANYYZ 09-27-06 06:25 PM

I'm thinking of getting a pair of sunglasses too. Deciding between Oakley (M-frame/half jacket) and Rudy Project (Kaylos/Kerosene). I'll go and check out the Performance once too. I needed one that allows prescription inserts, and preferably one that doesn't look out of place in shopping malls. :)

I'll be checking in with an optical shop in the next few days to check them out. I'm used to regular prescription glasses clip-ons, but find they don't have sufficient coverage for wind and my eyes tear up all the time.

Man, my shopping/wish list is getting longer and longer. :p

My latest purchase :D :D :D :D :D :D :D ...

i have 3 pair of half jackets! i love oakley sunglasses (also have 2 pair of non-cycling oakley's!)

Oakley Half-Jacket Aviation glasses on Steep and Cheap. $65.63

Are these the glasses you guys are talking about?

DaveSANYYZ 09-28-06 12:41 AM

I don't know how the navigate in Steep and Cheap, but those should be it; at least look-wise. Seems like they have the golf, aviation and other series. Not too sure if it's just the different shape of the (interchangeable?) lense or if even the frame is different.

I got these (although I need to go back and have them price match the web price  ) and some knee warmers.

Also, they told me they couldn't give me the double points for our large purchase from Sunday so I asked them to 'return' everything and re-purchase. They did. :D Also saved an additional $68 with web price matching for several items we bought Sunday.

Now I have to go back again tomorrow, since the return reversed my original points and the new points take 24 hours to hit the account. Gotta get a workstand!
