That's the only reason I've resisted joining the cult of Assos... I like the longer cut shorts. Of course, now that summer is coming, I am realizing that some of my non-biking shorts are above my thigh tan line. I guess I'm goofy enough looking already, that the white stripe won't really matter. :p

Bikes Aloft 2 to alleviate some space in the garage that is overcrowded with repair/maintenance/detailing supplies, car parts, and the car.

My first ever ebay purcahse:

BELL Sweep R Cycling Race Helmet

White/Silver 2007

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...DME:B:AAQ:US:1

Showed up as advertised, so at $83.00, a great price. I was leery (is it a fake, is it used, etc, but no sign of any of this).

DaveSANYYZ 04-05-07 10:02 PM

It's off-season, but I just picked up a DeMarchi C+ bib tight for $40 - 10% at nashbar. Also picked up a 12-27 cassette at Performance ($66-10%). :)

DaveSANYYZ 04-08-07 05:04 PM

Went out for a car ride today along my bike shopping route (78). Picked up a Kodiak light long sleeve jersey on clearance at Perf.

The main purpose was actually to try make use of my Trek 20% coupon. Initially I decided not to get the wheel deal (Bontrager X-lite for $500 otd)... but then couldn't help myself when I see the Easton Tempest2/Ascent2 on sale for $450 for a $380 otd (I got the Tempest 2).

07 Subaru Outback, in black. Not my first choice in color, but the other one they had in stock was a pretty awful green color and they gave me a screaming deal to take one off their lot.

Good gas mileage and will haul my bike around nicely. Plus, my old car was cursed and I needed it out of my life.

chimivee 04-09-07 10:42 PM

Niiiice!!!!!

Nah, it's the plain 2.5 engine. The 3.0 6 cylinder was out of my range, and to tell you the truth.... I don't really care that much about horsepower anymore. I just need to get around.

Congratulations! I had gone about 2 weekends ago with a friend so that I can test drive one of these while friend test drove a wrx wagon. I also wanted to try out the Legacy Wagon GT2.5 (I think thats the full name) but the dealer didnt have any in stock. :( My friend eventually ended up getting one of those El-Camino like Baja's instead.

chimivee 04-09-07 11:15 PM

If you're thinking of gettin a new WRX... do it now, lest you get stuck with the coming '08s. Can you say, looks like ass? It's like a Mazda3 wagon (nothing wrong with that) had sex with a Hyundai Tiburon (definitely something wrong with that, no offense).

I think the Legacy wagons are being discontinued after 2007, so they're selling now. I got this one in Thousand Oaks, they have one Legacy GT in stock. Of course, Thousand Oaks is about 80 miles from you. You could come up for the Mulholland Challenge on Saturday and make of day of it :D

If they could fix that front, I'd love it.
