"Lame" is me crashing in front of my house a couple of years ago. To this day I still can't remember how it happened but I wound up in the ER at Kaiser via the Paramedic taxi. Three stiches in my left ear lobe, various abrassions, bruises etc. Have aches and ghost pains to this day. Got back on the bike 2 months later and rode the exact same route in the same clothes just so I wouldn't get spooked by riding again. Good luck on your recovery. PG.

Looking at the description of my big fall, it sounds so lame. And it was one of the safest rides I have ever done. After all the years and thousands of miles I have put on my bike, I'm taken down by a patch of slippery moss . I'm kind of freaked about getting on the bike again, my shoulder still hurts and it is taking an extra long time to heal.

Bikes: 2012 MotorHouse road bike. No. You can't get one.
Hey, VG, I was wondering where you were on Wed & Mon morning rides.
Hope you're at 100% real soon--I have 2 weeks left before I go back to work.

I might be doing the 50 mile ride this Saturday if my uncle wants to join in, but we won't be dawdling at the stops as we both have to be to a family B-day in North Hills at 1:00.

She was in the Bay area visiting her brother and she crashed on a bike path on a wet bridge. She broke the collar bone and badly bruised her hip. Last I heard the hip is O.K. and she has been hiking but I don't think she has been on the bike yet.
I didn't create the nickname, it was given to me by the road club years ago. Where is this posted?

Valleygirl, hope to see you back on the bike soon. When John said you broke your collarbone, didn't think I needed to inquire further. Gee, a cyclist with a broken collarbone. Wonder how that happened?

No, a few years back, when he broke his hip, lost his job, etc. etc.
Paul, so far none of my friends are commiting to the century you asked about, maybe because we've been out there so many times recently.
Some may be going up Angeles Crest. I'll know more later.

Thanks for checking, John.
Actually, now that the route slip has been posted, it doesn't look like such a great ride. It's a straight shot down Topanga to PCH, and then PCH out past Mugu. I'm not such a big fan of riding PCH through much of that stretch. I was hoping the route would meander down Mulholland.

8am at the bottom (gas station). Keith is going up Wilson and then a little past Dawson's, I think Stan (others?) will skip Wilson. And turnaround before Dawson's is obviously an easy bailout decision anywhere along the way, regroup at Newcomb's.
