Beautiful shots Mary. I didn't realize you were just up north. I told John this evening that you were back east....:D

Thanks, George. :) East, North - it's all the same. :p

Hey, by the way, my aunt reminded me tonight of one of my favorite expressions of all time...."Well, butter my butt and call me a bisquit." :D

as long as you aren't nervous as a long tailed cat in a room full of rocking chairs...

Thanks, Jeff. :) No talent of mine. It's so pretty up here all I have to do is point and click.

jsigone 12-24-07 03:01 PM

I have the same camera you do, so I know how good it takes pics, well if you pick the right setting LOL.

I wish I could be walkin on the coast rather then stuck here at work. One more hr for me, then I can squeeze in another short ride today before it gets dark.

See, and I wish I could ride. :( I had to leave Patsy at home as I couldn't squeeze in switching the wheels (I lack an extra cassette or know-how to swith cassettes).

I have a Sram 11/26 you can have if you want Mary. It only has about 200 miles on it

Note to self: Show Mary how to switch cassettes.

You are so sweet. If it will fit my wheel, I'll buy it from you. :)

I wish you would, Jim, and I'll buy you lunch! I'm hopeless. :o

It's all yours! Save your money, as it's not doing me any good sitting in a bag in my garage ;)

A lady in her 50th giving all she have in a short up hill (on valley circle). I think you can feel her pain:

I drove through pacific grove yesterday, stayed the night in Monterey with my family. Great cycling community there.

I felt that same pain earlier this year when I decided to harden up a bit and take hills instead of the flat roads I'd long been traveling. On flat roads I could go for long stretches, but any lengthy hill would trip the pain switch and I'd pull back. As all of you dedicated hillmiesters know, climbing requires a different set of muscles, breathing capacity, heart rate, focus, and pain threshhold. Pushing a 40's model body with a long held approach to riding beyond it's comfort zone can be very challenging. Just yesterday I powered up a short but steep incline that months ago I dreaded climbing because of the pain. Yesterday's result was more, "Pfshh... is that all you've got?"

Last weekend going up Tuna Canyon I looked like her. Tuna Canyon is awesomely brutal.

Ahhh...maybe it's the whole Christmas thing, but that actually made me tear up. A sweet (I imagine very cute) 28 year old man wants to see me in a picture. You just made this old woman feel like a girl again! :D Maybe I'll but my lace undies on and really feel...

....oh, nevermind. For the other forum. :p

Some pics from Morgan Hill and my hike/walk. Beautiful up here for sure.

How cute is this guy? Very friendly and wanted me to keep petting him:

There's a bird in this shot. A very exotic one that I've never seen before, but he just wouldn't sit still long enough for me to capture him in his glory

ME, thank you for sharing your vacation with us; especially when we (my wife kids and I) didn't leave town. With your photos it is like we did.

That is very sweet of you, Shai. :) Thank you and you know, I'm miss camera queen. By the way, how are you doing? Healing well? I hope so.

Shprung 12-25-07 04:38 PM

I am back. Did a 40 miles yesterday and another 24 today. While in some pain, 2 minutes after I start cycling the body just feel at home and enjoy the next hour/s. Then back home I still feel some pain.. go figure.
