Yeah sure whateva.....you're joking I hope. There is no way I could. I have NEVER gone further than 135 miles.........so not sure where I would pull the last 65 from............ ( and dont comment on that joel ) :D

Well, I'm not suggesting you or anyone else just run out and ride one (I'm a stickler for training - not to say you aren't in amazing shape!). But with that said, I never rode over 120 before my first double. Some people train on shorter, harder rides than mileage (i.e. they don't do much over 75 on training rides but they make them tough with climbing, etc.). Each person is different. But no, I'm not joking. You already have a base. If you WANTED to do a double, you could train (using a method that suits you) for four to six weeks and knock one out without much ado, woman. I honestly believe that. :)

You're always so kind....thanks for the encouragement...I have an idea that I could finish just not sure in the time alloted :) The only reason I did my first century back in August was to get a new bike :o my husband said if I did a century he would buy me a better bike. So I think 10 days later I just did it....I did'nt train for it just signed up and went.......but around mile 80 I was hating life.......then little did I know this was a 110 mile century  so when I rolled up on mile 100 and there was no finish is sight I thought I would cry....but the funny thing that kept me going is a 75 year old lady rode up on me and we talked for about the next 5 miles and then she said she had a rodeo to go to later and had to go.......she vanished...in thin air almost....I thought that was so funny...and her friend she was with was older..so I laughed about that all the way to the finish.......so I finished in 8:45 minutes ... rode past the finish to my hotel when I realized I had to go back and check in with the organizer that I finished :( so I had to put my shoes back on my throbbing feet and hobble back to the finish....which then made my time 8:59  but the moral of the story is.....well Im not sure actually but I got a new bike 3 days later :o

Solvang usually takes me 12-13 hours to complete. Are you coming up Friday night, staying Saturday night? Let me know when you are going to be there, I should be there around 3pm Friday and I'm staying in Buellton. Maybe you can introduce me to this wild gang of yours. Anyway, hopefully the weather will hold and it won't rain like it did last year.

Scootcore, Magicant and I will be in Solvang Friday afternoon/evening. I think I may take that Friday off entirely, but since the three of us are carpooling up, I'm not sure on the arrival time. But I can call you once there (please PM your cell phone) and if timing allows, perhaps we can all have our carbo-loading meal together. :)

Great. You know, I've been checking out places in Solvang and surrounding areas and everything closes by 9 or 9:30pm. For Friday, no biggie of course, and we can pick and choose for dinner. But I was looking for Saturday night. Hmmm...we may be eating at Denny's for a post ride meal. Somebody's having a birthday, but he may be getting candles in a stack of pancakes at this rate!

magicant 03-20-07 03:07 PM

4 miles from the hotel...

I thought you said you were joking about the casino. But looking at the website, they do have places open late that look good.

There's a Bakers Square in Buellton at Hwy 101 & Hwy 246. I know they are open late, I stay at the Motel 6 next door. Solvang to Buellton is 3 miles.

Baker's square is the one place I was a waitress (sad, sad, sad one...:p ) back when I was 19 years old (in northern cal for one summer). Their pies are darn good! :D

So, the post-ride party is at Chumash!!! C'mon and let me take all your money!!!
