I will try to come, but I am really worried that my ass will fail me. By being too big for example.

My devil's punchbowl report...

Left to right OC rider, chucklehead, me, vireo, merckx89

Yeah...I obviously didn't race today. Whatever respiratory crap I have is stuck with me and I'm putting racing on the backburner for awhile until I can breathe again. I did get to feed some boys and pose for pictures, so the day wasn't all bad.

Helen's would be ideal. I'd be afraid of the Rock one trying to push me off into a ditch or something.

Speaking of Rock girl, you should have seen her dressed in street clothes. SA-MOKIN'

He had a rough race. Got dropped and rode 2.5 of the 3 laps alone. He did finish though and I'm proud of him.

There were approximately 4-5 people who didn't get dropped at some point.

I ended up 6th in the 5's. When we first started some guys just took off an I thought I was going to be in trouble. I hung on till the top of the climb along with about 20 guys. Then we stayed pretty much toghter till we were on the desent to the sharp right. Than the race took off. I coudnt match the acceleration at first, an just got into my own groove an was able to rejoin the group of 7 before the feed zone, in the mean time one rider was off the front. We stayed together till about half way on the head wind section. When three guys took off after the leader, again i couldnt jump. I got goin dropped two guys an was catching the two guys in front coming to the finish when they looked back at me an sprinted away, so i rolled in for a 6th place finish. Good race, I still was amazed at the pace for the first climb, some of those guys pushing the pace i never saw agin. i guess live an learn for them.

That was a close finish. The winner wasn't decided until about 20 yards from the line. Your teammate can take pride in the fact that he was the first non-professional athlete across the line

Wes isn't a pro mtn biker. He is an elite (below semi-pro and pro). He is pretty new to bike racing (road and mtb) and the guy just has a big engine (ex cross country)...

Our bearclaw guy, Lyle, won the 5s - he is semi-pro mtb...

Sorry to hear about the bad cramps Joseph... You have had a run of bad luck. I have been cramping in longer, harder races too. I use elite, but still have some cramping... I am not sure what else to do...

I did the 40+ (4/5) and got 9th. First lap felt good and I tried to go with the 3 strongest guys on the climb of the 2nd lap and went a little too deep. I then got gapped on the last part by the climb by the next group and rode by myself behind them (almost got back on after the descent). The three guys stayed away, then the 5 that I lost hold of... The guy who won is the guy who won the 4s at SDSR and also rode away from us at Cyclovets in the 35+ (4/5). Super strong climber...

I did 4 hard races in one week (Cyclovets RR, Ojai crit, and 2 at Sea Otter) and I don't think I was recovered all the way. I rode better on a practice run there 3 weeks ago... But I'm trying to get the full experience in my first season ;-)

Not sure about SLR...

Good job everybody!
