Very pretty...simple, classic...I like that seatpost, too.

Sweet.

I wear my 20th Anniversary Motorhead Tour shirt when I need motivation to ride harder. (Today might be one of those days.) Ah, the salad days, when I lost some measurable percentage of my hearing.... (Note to self: front and center at a Motorhead show can be a mistake.)

that is not a mistake that is a way of life!
i saw metallica on the dont tread on me tour in 91 while wearing ballistics earphones.

i put those specific bars on my ride to make it look like the tusk things on the cover of the first lp. i call her white line fever.

I saw the 20th Anniversary tour in a little club in CT in 1995. Front and center. No ear protection. All you could hear was bass and the occasional drum fill. I don't know how Lemmy does it day in and day out. My organs were shaking.

That's a hot idea to riff on the cover of the first LP.

I wish cheap 'project bikes' were plentiful in 61cm. Alas, no.

I'm working on a mid-70's Peugot SS/fixie and I'm having trouble with the bottom bracket. It has ISO threads but the drive side is right handed or left anyway basically both sides thread on the same. Unlike all the BB's of today. I'm going to try to modify a BB I already have, because I have an extra set of cranks that fit it and I'm too cheap to go out and buy a new BB and crank setup. Wish me luck. Pictures to follow

Good luck! I just came from the shop where I bought new bearings for my $15 bike. The bottom bracket was a mess (much of this bike is a mess )

It was fun for me. I never opened one up before! It was rattling around, the old bearings had actually broken apart.

I have trouble finding cheap project bikes anywhere. Everyone seems to want several hundred for their '80s vintage 10 speeds.

Start by not wasting your time on CL...go to thrift stores...yard sales....estate sales...

I have problems finding small bikes...

Glad to hear it's being put to good use!

My bike was dropped off last Friday for the SS conversion. Should be done anytime in the next day or two. Will post up when I pick it up.

I would convert from 27" wheels to 700c, which meant converting the brakes to ones that would reach the rim safely.

How did u do this conversion? where did you get the new brakeset?

But no doubt if I say don't waste your time on Craigslist there will be a whole slew of great deals there...

Usually when I call about something good it's already gone, that's all I'm sayin'. I've done far better in thrift stores.

WhiteCarbonDude beat me to it! I used the Nashbar long reach brakes. They are just barely long enough to make it, but it was the low budget option. I considered making my own adaptor and welding it on the frame, to make a long story short. But the long reach brakes were cheaper than the time it would have taken to do that.

Here is my project bike
Part 1
Garage sale find: price=FREE
I got there at the end of the day and the guy didn't want to put the bike back in his garage so he told me to take it. It was an entire bike. Most of the parts on it were junk, so I'm starting from scratch. Wish me luck!

Dark side, Here I Come!!

The LBS got a smokin' deal on flip-flop wheels, and I found a buyer for the wheels on there now. I'll be picking them up today, they'll be on tonight, and I'll take it out tomorrow. What do I need to know about the fixie experience?
