Don't stop pedaling. Ever.

Oh, and you'll have to put alot more thought into starting and stopping. You'll know what i mean when you try it.

i can balance with my junk on the stem on my road bike no problem, but not on my fixie. the rear wheel just sort of skips across the ground and maybe skids for 6 inches.

Aha. I'm betting that the "skipping" could possibly cause some discomfort, to understate what I'm imagining.

Well, you've probably seen pics of the cool kids doing it. You just basically have to unweight the rear wheel, so you stop pedaling (obviously) and thrust your hips forward as far as possible (nuts to the bar) and lean over the bar even. It sounds gnarly, but it's actually pretty easy... just have to committ and not half ass it, or it doesn't work.

Just picked up my SS conversion from the LBS - need to shower and then I'll post some boring garage pics as I don't have time to scout location/set up a better shoot. Stay tuned.

Brian - congrats on the flip-flop wheel!

roadfix, how are you enjoying the ride? Smooth sailing? Any more mods in the works?

The other bikes in this thread are gorgeous as well. Good stuff, folks.

alice strong, if pink is your thing, I'd like to see that frame in a pink metallic-fleck paint treatment. A little more disco glitterati, a little less Barbie bubblegum.
