I rode up to Dana Point today but could not find the bagel shop GP mentioned. Going north I turned left on Golden Lantern and went toward the harbor shops. I walked around but did not see a bagel place. I ended up at a pizza/ice cream place near the harbor cruise terminal. Did I go to the wrong set of shops?

I think you were close. After you turned on Golden Lantern, you go to the end of the street, go onto the sidewalk and walk down a wide stairway. At the bottom, there is a patio with green plastic tables. The bagel shop is on the right.

My directions are never wrong. Ask Ian.

Doubtful. I have been too busy working on achieving the perfect ovoid shape.

The good news is that I have been laid off from my Kafkaesque job which will allow me much more time to ride, but I fear it's too late to matter much for this year's BA.

You had a job? I thought you were a professional slacker. Who knew?

You've got 4 full weeks to prep - plenty of time especially since you won't have to worry about that pesky job getting in the way.

Hi all. I've been missing but not in action either. Haven't rode at all this year.

I'm signed up for BA though; rolled over from last year. 4 more weeks? Ok, it's time to panic.

I tried out a new to me posing spot: Pannikin Encinitas. Saw a posing foul. A cyclist was sitting at the patio and he still had his helmet on. It was a really old multi-colored Giro too.

I overheard this conversation (paraphrased)
"I'm thinking of moving to Hawaii. There are no illegals."
"There are Japanese."
"I can live with the Japanese."

Uuhh . . .

A final note: if Tim Whatley can convert to Judaism for the jokes, I can become a triathlete for the women.

Right now, at this moment, there are more viewers on the SoCal regional than on all the other regional forums.

Is that so terrible?
