If SoCal gets closed, I will leave threads like this visible. That way, the 98% of the members that never tried to start things will know who to blame.

If this thread is visible in a closed SoCal, you should bring back the others, so that people actually get a balanced view of what happens.

Brian, don't forget, I as a member of Bikeforums.net, invited folks. ME. I did it and I admit it openly. I don't own or have any say so on that "other" site. I'm just a member. I also invited members from Roadbikereview.com over to that site just as I did last year to THIS site, but their mods haven't said a word even though I believe THAT site has been around longer than even THIS one. Members from this site go there and they come here and...guess what? We are all free agents to go to any site we wish to visit at any time. That “other” site is no match for this one and no competition, but the one thing it doesn’t have here is the one thing I don’t want to deal with anymore – the outright hostility.

Now, what I would like you to address is how does Bikeforums.net plan to pay me for all of the free advertising I've given Bikeforums.net in the last two years by using word of mouth and emails and other sites' PMs, inviting members/riders from Planet Ultra's rides and The LA Wheelman's rides and SFVBC's rides and the random riders I see out on a Saturday morning to come to this site? I’ve also worn jerseys with www.bikeforums.net all over it. I’ve been a riding advertisement for this forum all along – a willing one. I also organized rides and tried, Brian, to foster some sense of camaraderie. But you know what? Leave this post in here long enough and you will see exactly WHY I don’t want to be in this regional forum anymore. I’ve already PMed you the names of every one of the individuals who have taunted, belittled and HARASSED me for last six months – members who’ve never met me, Brian, but just don’t like me (I guess I didn’t invite them into the sandbox with open enough arms).

So, please, stop using the fact that I invited members from this site over to the “other” one as a point of contention, Brian. It's absolutely ludicrous on all levels.

That's appalling but not shocking. Hey, lock it down and just leave my post so that MERIDER1 can be the person everyone blames!!!!!

In fact, I would love it if you locked this forum, Brian. Then you could claim the biggest showdown in internet history.

FOO, down...Bam! Then So Cal, down...Bam!

No, I'm gone, Brian, believe me. Case in point...

It didn't take Thug #1 long to show up.

Come on, little Allez Oops, I know you're out there, come on...come on...

Crit's here and he can't do the harassing without his side kick.

Better yet, why don't you, Alicestrong, step on up to the plate instead of using your sidekicks to do it for you.

My perspective was purely psychological. I was trying to figure out which of the many personalities would return first. It was tough to guess because they all dwell in dramatics.

Actually Mary, I kind of LIKE the idea of your Forum. I'm not sure , though, that your pool of members is big enough to keep it interesting for you.

Will it be?

If a group of SoCal regulars want to throw a tantrum that they can't play by their rules, but have to live within the rules of the forum, that's ya'lls problem. Why people can't just play nice and enjoy this forum without petty arguments that cast a very dark shadow over what is by large a great community is beyond me. We are all cyclists here, and even though we have some differences, that is what is supposed to bring is together. The Admins and Moderators have had to deal with more drama out of this subforum than any other regional forum. Yes, most likely because it is the most active. But shouldn't this be the example of what other regional forums strive to be. Not an example of how not to do it.

I've met a good number of the SoCal crew over the last couple years on my visits, and everyone I've met has been great. I don't like that anyone has to come in here and be the bad guy. Brian has better things to do, I have better things to do. So can we just say that everyone has better things to do than to continue down this road and move in a better direction.

dare i say there is coming in and being the "bad guy", and there is whats gone down today.....i enjoy this forum. i enjoy this site. but the things ive seen happen today have been awful. and yes, i want to move towards a better forum, but that means both from the top down and the bottom up. my only "tantrums" today or ever have been over what i personally percieve as over reaching moderation or childish behavior. that is MY personal opinion and nobody elses. maybe you agree maybe you dont, i can live with that though. this never should have got to this pint.

so... basically, we should just shut up, bend over, and take it whenever someone like brian decides to have a bad day.
if that's what you're saying, then fine. but say it.

I'm sure that one-on-one, everybody is very nice.

But is it REALLY possible for a sub-forum in an area as large and diverse as Southern California with ALL the different cycling "societies"...is it possible for everyone to all know each other, ride together, "like" each other, as Mary, Happy... seem to want?

It would be ideal, but...
