Had I gotten anywhere below 6th place or so I would have hated that race. The combination of the climb and the brutal heat just about killed me. I actually got dropped on the climb the last two laps and had to put in a little TT effort on the backside to catch up.
I'll have to go back next year and pray that it wont be so amazingly hot again.

Need a Schedule in "shareable" format - not a web page.
Anyone got the goods or suggestions? I found one last year, here is the public one I made "La Grange Team 3/4/5 Bike Racing Calendar" Data was good from March - Sept.

The UCLA race will be open to uscf racers, but might have some combined categories. It's nearly identical to the Devil's Punchbowl course but turns right onto Longview, bypassing Pallet Creek. The finish is just before the intersection of Longview and Pallet Creek.

It should be illegal to race out there.

At some point, I will also be putting these on to a Google Map so I get a visual of where & when everything is scheduled.

Mark, which team are you going to race for? I hate to say it, but I'm going to sign up with PAA. They just have their stuff together and I've spent too much time on new, struggling teams in the past.

At this point, I'll stay with LF. PAA is very organized, but I'm not impressed with their results for how big they are. Of course, I'm not impressed with my results for how big I am either.

Yup, should be the same.
The last two times I've done it the weather actually wasn't bad at all. It's a bit cold until about 7:30-8am then its reasonable. Maybe even no arm warmers (except the descent). Much better than the morning races at Boulevard.
FYI, my opinion is that our course is a fair bit harder than Punchbowl. It's the same amount of climbing in about 4 miles less per lap because we cut out a section of the course. The finish is at the top of a 5 minute climb after a right turn off of Pallet Creek (the long false flat section at the bottom). Because the course is shorter it'll probably be 6 laps for P/1/2, 4 laps for Cat3, 3 laps for Cat 4 or something to that effect.
Also, the TT is an awesome course. It's rolling, with about 400 feet gained on the way out and a tailwind on the way back (=FAST). It's good pavement and little traffic.

What PAA needs is a team captain of some sort. When they have enough people out there and they actually sit down before the race and think about it for a second, they don't do half bad. If they had a captain for all races, then they would do much better, but no one wants to step up to the plate.

Oh good, this will make great practice for Punchbowl. It's going to be colder than a witches tit in Feb, though, isn't it?

I had a hard time looking for a team and I narrowed it to SC Velo or Citrus Valley Velo. The latter I'm not sure if I could make, however I got on a new team. Its about 10 guys and we're all Cat 5. A few will upgrade fast (me not being on of them) and it will be real interesting to see how things go.

The TT is open to UCSF as well? I liked the UCLA TT course last year, i might need to find a hotel and camp out for both days if given the option again this year,

That's right, no more collegiate for you... Btw, I'm done with your powertap, thanks for letting me use it. Do you want to come pick it up this evening or have me drop it off?
