I. Active Recovery.
Easy ride to Sears for a new torque wrench. Took it easy, but legs felt hard & stiff despite frequent stretching. Looking forward to hitting it hard again this week after Monday's rest.

Happy (belated) 23rd birthday Soju.
III/IV Sub-Lactate Threshold. 5 minutes @ 285-300W, then 2 x 10 minutes @ 270-285. Having a little knee trouble and have been experimenting with different replacement insoles after my previous pair got moldy from New Years' sideways-rain ride, so form was choppy.

Rode up Hwy 39 with Vertical Bob. Took it easy, no big hurry, but as far as we could go until we hit snow.
https://connect.garmin.com/activity/63591070
Tried to stay with Laura, but she dropped me (without really trying to) about 1/2 mile before the snow line.
Rick / OCRR
We tried to walk past snow, but it was very slippery. I fell, Laura didn't. Probably got about a mile below intersection with Hwy 2.

Busy Weekend, Great Weather, 220 miles:
Saturday: Camino Cielo - Rancho Bernardo - Ted Williams - Return on PCH. 62 miles.
Sunday: Century training, with climbing opener. Twin Oaks Parkway to Little Gopher - SLR bikepath - San Clemente & Return. Would have done my first century of 2011, but ran out of daylight. 87 miles.
Monday: Up to San Clemente again to pick up my sister's wallet and meet my father for pizza & beer. 71 miles.
Now for a nice rest day or two...

Here's a contrasting ride with my buddy Dan La Foot today: https://connect.garmin.com/activity/64014290
Notice the lack of sped, elevated heart rate, and low cadence!
Poor Dan nearly fell asleep during the ride...thank GOD he's a patient man....

SART -> Santiago Canyon -> Trabuco Canyon -> Jamboree -> SART -> Green River Golf Course -> Glassell.
What a great ride it was. So many cyclists out, got lots of waves. Talked to a few of them. Riding on the SART after sunset was really a neat experience too, first time I've really made good use of my lights.

Wier Canyon to beach and back via SART. I coasted all the way to the beach and got my butt kicked by the wind on the way back. Good weather though - Not too many cyclists out today Maybe the wind..

1/25, IV: Lactate Threshold. 2 x 15 mins at 285-305W. (Averaged 304 on both.) I'm getting to where I really love these LT sessions, especially after yesterday's burner. 300W FTP here I come! Also I'm down to 177.0 pounds--only 5 more to go!
1/24, VI: Anaerobic Capacity. 1 x 5 mins @ 300W, then 6 x 2 mins @ 370W. This was my first time sustaining wattage numbers like this, and and it was peculiar. My heart, lungs, guts and legs (above the knee) felt fine, but my calves were burning and almost seemed on the verge of cramping during the cooldown spin. (Hazard of new functions, I suppose.)
1/22, III: Tempo. 2 hours @ 210-260W. Easy ride on PCH & San Luis Rey Trail to Bonsall & return. Forced myself to take it easy, and even let a few riders pass me, (which is a real trick for me.)

Thanks for sharing. My sister lives out in Corona (Ontario and 91) and I've been meaning to ride my bike out to her house from Downey. Looking at your route, I figure Imperial to the SART to Green River over to Sarfas Road then 6th and over to Rimpau. I'll have to post once I complete it.
