I hear ya - last Saturday was my first really long and hot ride and it wiped me out.

Good grief Rick! That's got to be harder than any ride you're currently training for.

EPIC! How was the closed portion of 39? I've not heard anything about it's condition this year, it was immaculate last time we all went up there in the fall.

One more ride till the month is over. I took a friend out for his second time ever. I also got over 600 miles for the month. Before last month which was 483 my biggest month was 420.

I'd give the closed section a solid B. I've seen it better, but more often have seen it much worse. Got a flat front from hitting a pot-hole (yes, I was going too fast) but no rocks shredded my tires this time .

Overall it was a fun and fairly easy ride. Today, for a recovery ride I rode GMR/GRR to Mt. Baldy Village and back. Didn't hammer at all though, just took it easy. We did stop for cinnamon rolls and coffee at Mt. Baldy Lodge!
