Fizik Test Saddles in Long Beach, Seal Beach and Orange County/North San Diego County
I know that Fizik has a test saddle program. It has been frustrating calling every bike shop around trying to see if they have the Fizik Kurve Chameleon saddle that I can take out for a single day on a test-ride, but getting the "No, we don't have the Fizik Kurve Chameleon to test-ride."
I don't mind paying for the privilege, but I'll be darned if I am gonna pay $300 for a saddle that I can't try out, then have to sell it as a used item if it does not work for me.
Why are local bicycle shops so stupid? All it takes is to have Fizik send you the test-saddles as a business-to-business courtesy. No wonder a lot of them are not doing well
Anybody knows a competent shop to try?
End of rant!

Rock N Road has Fizik test sadddles and fortunately for you, there are 5 or more of those shops around OC. I can't promise you if they have the specific model you're looking for but they got some weird specialized parts from the distributor for me so I reckon they'll give it a shot!

Called and found out no test saddles available with the Fizik Kurve series.

You might check EastWest Bikes in Fullerton. Not 100% sure, so maybe give them a ring or check with them via FB.

Try Coates Cyclery in Pomona. They are a Fizi:k dealer. Phone 909-624-0612. I know Incycle has some saddles (I demoed a Fizi:k Versus Arione) but never asked if they had the Curve.. O

Thanks guys.
It seems Fizik made a business decision not to send demo Kurve saddles out to their dealers. I called all shops mentioned above, but none has the Kurve saddles as demo, even though some have other Fizik saddles. It looks to me like Fizik decided that their most expensive saddles (the Kurves) won't be sent as demo to their dealers.

Helen's lets you return them for up to 30 days. I tried the Aliante Versus and returning it to them for a full refund.

Fizik doesn't include the Kurve saddles as part of the test program.
West River Cycles in Long Beach has Fizik test saddles, but no Kurve obviously. Based on my experience, I would suggest either trying the regular Antares or Anteres Versus to see if it fits your shape. If either saddle works, the Chamelion should be fine for you. I rode the Arione pretty religiously for about 4-5 years. Last year, I switched to the Kurve Snake (same shape) and would say that the Kurve feels exactly like the regular line in regards to the areas that it supports, yet is 10x more comfortable due to the (Brooks-like) suspension stee.
Also worth adding, Fizik's customer service is top notch.

^ Thanks.
I'll try the Antares and see. I have also just read somewhere that the Kurve shell's underside are susceptible to cracking, so my ardor for the Kurve has sort of cooled a bit. I'll see if I can get the Antares from a local shop to try.

You're welcome.
I had the shell crack on my earlier model, which could have either been a result of being hit by a car or a manufacturers defect. Fizik replaced it with zero questions asked and the second shell has been going strong for a while now. It's pretty thin carbon under there and I've been riding it with the soft insert which allows the center of the saddle to travel up and down a bit more, hence allowing the carbon to flex. The hard insert might give it more resistance towards cracking.
Outspoken in Sunset Beach also has a full run of test saddles.
Good luck, Jed. Let us know what you end up with.
