Bad drivers are capable of hitting you no matter where you ride, even if it's on a dedicated bike path up a 15-foot embankment behind a chain link fence.
If you're afraid to ride in the street, don't ride in the street. But trying to convince those of us who ride there that we're facing imminent death anytime we do is futile.
