Here's a small Santana Fusion (26" wheels) that should fit, and at a good price.
https://neworleans.craigslist.org/bi...283831293.html
It's in Biloxi MS. You would need to switch to drop bars and shifters but you would have a quality bike/frame worth a few upgrades.
Tailwinds,
Charlie

I appreciate the heads-up on this one. Thanks.

You might consider contacting Alex Nutt at MTB Tandems. (678) 445-0711 Contact Us | MTB Tandems
221 Rope Mill Parkway, Suite 2 Woodstock, GA 30188
He keeps quite a few tandems in stock for customers to try out different equipment and will be able to tell you if he has anything sized to fit you to try. He was incredibly helpful on the phone, even thought it took a year before we were able to work out a trip to go visit the store. Although he is known as being the off-road tandem expert, he carries road tandems too.

This one looks close (at least in your state) and would be a great bike.

Speedevil,
How far away is Tandem's Limited in Birmingham AL? Jack Goertz keeps many tandems on had and usually all the stock sizes. You could give him a call and see what he has in a small.

This may not be very helpful but 2-3x over past 3-4 yrs a lady in Indiana has
posted a small-small Lightspeed tandem for sale on the Tandem list at Hobbes.
A google on small small litespeed tandem on Hobbes popped up the post, to
my surprise. This was 2015, but she reposted a bit more recently than that.

I think that since it sounds like you have not tried out a tandem to see if you would even like it. Unless you don't mind throwing money at stuff blindly,I think that you should see if their are any bike shops within striking range, that might have small rental tandem(s) or for sale, to try out. I used to be in tandem retail, and can tell you that without trying, it will be hard to tell if you will like it. Over the years, I experienced a lot of different reactions from different people. I had one couple who were sure that they would love tandeming, but 50 feet later, she jumped off and said that she did not know that she could not take the lack of control.
Sounds like my wife: rode on a tandem with me just once & went back to her Trek. I still have it & ride it alone from time to time...
Lucky for me mine required only a small initial investment but if there had been major costs incurred it would have stung !
Now I tell people to borrow or rent before buying.

Small / Small DaVinci Tandem
Da Vinci makes a Small / Small with Disc brakes and independent drive. The Captain and stoker can independently relax, take a drink, adjust seat position, stand for a few seconds to relieve weary sit bones, even take a moment to gaze at scenery, while the other keeps pedaling. I am coming through Paducah in a few weeks. I can bring it with me for a test ride.

Hi All,
Looking to rehome a pair of Litespeed Taliani titanium tandems. One is a
small small and the other is a medium small. They have been stored.
Absolutely no shipping, pick-up in Northern Indiana. I can give you
aproximate heights for pilots, but don't want to drag the bikes out of
storage for measuring. . Send me a
message if interested.
Thank you,
Anita **
So there is the contact info. I have deleted the price but it is a give away
price in the range 15-20% of original cost.

Tandems
Tandeming is a blast and a great way to ride as a couple. It's a bit like dancing in that the captain leads but it's all about keeping you Stoker happy. My Stoker and I just upgraded to a new Carbon Santana travel Tandem. I find quality is more important in a tandem (stiff frame, good components) than on my single as so much more power is going into it you need the performance or it feels very sluggish and frustrating.
We have our previous Santana Sovereign SE for sale.

If you're interested in more info on the sovereign or talking tandem PM me.

I want to thank everyone for the responses in this thread. We've had to deal with some health issues (nothing major) but I'm going to put the tandem search on hold for a little while. I will be back to it again, in a few weeks/months. I'm hoping that the arrival of spring may foster some renewed interest from my spouse.

If you're on hold, I'll take any deals anyone finds near or around southern New Mexico. I'd love a small tandem. GF and I tried one recently. We couldn't work out the price but if we could have, I'd have a tandem right now!
Small/small with 26" wheels would be ideal. Flat bars or drop not really important. Want lots of tire clearance for at least 32mm and preferably more.
Have Prius and will drive for the right deal!

Hi, I have a small tandem frame (currently not built, but I have parts) ( not sure how small you need) It has 45cm (17.7") seat tubes and the top tubes 5cm(2") lower. I live in eastern Arizona. You can contact me about more details (at ravello bikes) if it interests you at all.

Hi Speedevil. Not sure if you have begun your search again for a small/small size tandem. But, wanted to say that the Cannondale Road Tandems from 8 or 9 + years ago sized M/S have a smaller/shorter standover height for the captain than the newer ones. I have a 2005 version and I am only 5ft 7in tall and normally ride a 51 to 52 cm single road bike. I can standover my tandem with very bent knees so I believe a M/S older (say older than 2007 or 2008) will work great for you.
Here's the frame I'm speaking of:
We live in Southern Indiana in case you'd ever like to try it out.
Good luck!
