I did 3,403.5 miles on my tandem in 2006, through November 17. On November 18, I had a bit of a wreck at the Hellyer Park Velodrome in San Jose, CA:

Back on the bike a bit now (finally), but so much for my 4,000mile goal for the year.
At least I'm riding again...! Here's to a good 2007. I could sure use it.

925 miles for 2006. But we didn't start until July 3. We also missed quite a few nice days in the last couple of months due to work interfering with life. Brand new stoker also new to cycling. We're aiming for 2000 miles in 2007.

Don't mince words
Roughly 532, since Oct. 20 when we bought the tandem. Mostly weekend riding, with the occasional mid-week ride. I think our shortest ride thus far has been 32 miles.
We've already racked up 432 miles since Jan. 1. This is going to be a real kickin' year!

Not that much. Probably only 2500 km. A good chunk of it was a 1600-km tour of which 500 km were ridden with my two daughters. The rest of my 7000 km were done on a single-place bike.

Wow, I'm seeing a lot of distance being shown.
I had about 120 miles last year.
We had a local event of a set of endurance mountain bike races of 4 hours each. A gentleman on a local forum posted up he had a mountain tandem sitting in his garage doing nothing and offered it up for use. I had a momentary lapse of reason and said okay.
First race was in November. My stoker and I got in about 5 miles of training (we had never been on a tandem) before the first race. We were on the course almost 5 hours and I think 44 miles and it was a beating but we had a great time. I can't tell you how many of the racers on half bikes would pass us up and tell us how nuts we were to be riding a tandem on that course. They were all very gracious though. Came in third in tandem category.
Second race was in December tougher with the same stats. Almost 5 hours and about 40 miles on a trail with rock gardens from hades. We came in second.
The third race was unfortunately (ha) cancelled due to weather.
I just purchased the tandem and plan to do more races and get in a few more miles than last year.
