Vision IPS freewheeling crankset

Vision used to produce tandems with and IPS system that looks as though it came standard with a lot of the bikes. The manual is here https://www.hostelshoppe.com/atp_arch...structions.pdf

I was wondering if anyone has owned or seen a vision tandem with this feature. I'm thinking of installing one on my Vision, but I'm encountering very basic technical questions that I cannot seem to find the answers to, and would help prior to spending $200 on parts.

First, does there need to be a freewheel on both the front and back crank? They are sold individually and the same mechanism works on both places, but I am not sure if I need to have two.
Second, the diagram shows a second set of teeth on the freewheel mechanism. Does the timing chain go on the smaller gear, or are there two sets of timing chains?
Third, my local mechanic believes that a freewheel system without a third bracket would require a larger lower bracket to house the freewheel mechanism, but the manual seems to indicate that normal brackets would work fine. Is this the case.

The answers would be pretty obvious if I saw a Vision bike with one on it, but all I can find is the manual and parts.

I am trying to put a picture of our Double Vision. I hope it helps you. This one has the IPS. If not, I can try to have my husband answer your questions when it is next available. We are traveling and do not always have wifi.

Thank you so much for taking the time to post the picture! I can tell that the chain between the petals is still on the large gear, and it looks like both arms have the mechanism on them. I can't see the bottom bracket, but I'm guessing that it is standard size.

As my wife said, we are traveling and I do not have the Vision to refer to here but here is what I recall. Yes there is a freewheel mechanism on both cranks. That is only because either of us can freewheel. If the captain does not want freewheel then you can get by with only the freewheel on the stoker crank. The freewheel mechanism is not in the bottom bracket but on between the crank and chainwheel. So no larger bottom brackets are needed. I am not sure what you mean by third bracket. If you mean third bottom bracket, then no. The timing chain on the stoker chainwheels goes between the large sprocket and the crank so all chains are on the right side of the bike. If you need further info please ask. I can rely on my memory while away or can take more detailed photos when we return by August 1.

On another note, we have not used our Vision tandem in a few years. We have gone back to upright tandems so this one just sits. Came in handy when I had surgery and could not use the uprights so unless I get into that situation again it probably will sit. I wouldn't mind selling it but wife is always in the "what if" mode so why we have kept it for now. She definitely would not sell it just so it could be parted out but if someone wanted it and would use it, she might be swayed.

The bike that I am looking to buy is here:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/vcd9mn2vorc4sio/Photo%20Jun%2020%2C%208%2059%2014%20AM.jpg

and it is located at this bike shop: https://www.mrbikeonline.com/
It doesn't have the freewheeling cranksets, but the shop says that they will install it if I find the part. The bike has a bag on the back of the rear seat and dual speedometers, but no water bottle holders.
The bike is priced at $1650 and I plan to buy it within the next week or so. I'd be happy to buy yours if its in good shape and you can box it and send it to Wisconsin for that amount.
