Woo Hoo!!! The Rain was fun tonight!

I started leaving work about 8:50 tonight (to beat the rain) and made it about 50 ft before the first drops hit.
The sad thing is that I'd taken my rain jacket out of the pannier and hung it up at home.
The heavy stuff hit just as I crossed Arapaho at Custer and I rode through the parking lot to take what little shelter I could from a store overhang and dried off the glasses. Since the overhang was open to the west (guess which way the wind was blowing) and rain was coming down in sheets, I figured I'd make a dash for the shops across the lot and wait it out. Of course by the time I'd gotten to the other side I was as wet as I could possibly get, so I just continued on home.

The Darlin' Wife met me at the door with towels and dry sweats as I divested myself of the sodden mass that was once my clothing.

Wouldn't you know the storm was nearly done by the time I'd changed.....

I had a blast!

It was a pretty intense storm. Did you get any lightning?

Well, we got it about 12 miles East of him, and it came from the West. My guess is he was racing the storm just like you were.

I enjoy riding in the rain, and have ridden(not intentionally) in some pretty good storms. That storm last night, as it came across west Fort Worth, had alittle more electrical action that I care to be out in.

Lots of strikes, but mostly to the north. I would have wimped out if they had gotten too close.
I grew up at altitude in Colorado and have had the hair on my arms dance with the static build-up before
a strike. Not something one wishes to experience too many times!

I managed to stay out ahead of it but the leading edge was quite impressive.

That was an excellent storm, I was happy it had all passed except for a nice light show on my ride home last night at about 10pm

Bikes: Specialized Allez, Cervelo RS is in process.

I rode it to and from a doctor's appt this morning in Arlington.
As it cooled, I stopped in at Sun and Ski Sports and bought a long sleeve jersey and Leg warmers.

I think we are in for a cold winter this year.

I knew the forecast ahead of time. I was able to knock out 60 miles while it was still bright, sunny and in the 90s. I don't care for riding in the rain. I don't trust drivers right after it starts, causing the roads to become slick.

Be careful out there.
