anyone in Sugar Land?
Hi everybody,
I live at 59 and Grand Parkway. I am pretty new to riding (aka slow). Is anyone who lives nearby down for a ride with a slow guy?

Not sure if you know about them, but the roads in and around Fulshear, Brookshire, Simonton, and Pattison are incredible for riding. Low traffic, generous shoulders, plenty of cyclists, and very courteous drivers make them an awesome place to learn to ride and gain some confidence in traffic. Just drive up Grand Parkway, take a left on highway 90, and take a right at FM 359. You can park at Foster high school and start riding the roads from there.
Here are a couple of routes I take:

You can also go south towards Brazos Bend State Park on FM 762. There are a lot of cyclists on those roads as well, but the shoulders are narrow to non-existent and there is quite a bit more traffic on them, especially large truck traffic.

Hope that helps.

I usually ride from Cinco Ranch down to Winnie Foster and to Fulshear. I live in the Energy Corridor and drive to Cinco Ranch to start riding.
I will ride with you or Alpha Bravo.
It looks like my speed is similar to Alpha Bravo's.

Thanks, alpha_bravo. I'll check out those routes some time.
I went exploring yesterday and rode out towards my old high school.

Finals are going to kick my butt for the next 2 and a half weeks, but I'll be free to ride with you guys after that.

I do a few rides with Bike Barn Katy, which many lead out to Fulshear as well. I'm a bit more north in Katy, the BB LBS is only a couple of miles from my house Good little ride to get warmed up. I see many people starting off at Katy Mills or Katy High school and doing a ride that way. LaCenterra/Cinco Ranch HS is a good place to start too.
