Question on route to St. Louis Amtrak station
Anyone from the St. Louis area able to tell me the most bicycle friendly route from Machens, MO (end of the Katy Trail) approximately 30 miles north of St. Louis, to the St. Louis Amtrak station. I googled the bike route in Google maps but am hoping that someone with experience can confirm or give me a better idea.
As always, thank you for your input.

If Google maps told you to use the Confluence Trail in IL, parts of it are closed right now. If IL still looks like the best way to go, you could contact Madison County Trails (MCT Trails) to see if they have other suggestions.
The Katy Trail website has three route recommendations from the 364 bridge south of St. Charles.
Katy Trail to downtown St Louis
Assuming you are riding the Katy Trail west to east, that would require backtracking, but might still be the easiest route. I have ridden from the 364 bridge to Manchester, but not downtown, so I don't have experience with most of those routes.

I'm doing this in October. I decided to head from St. Charles through Creve Coeur park to Westport. The hotel I'm staying at there will give a ride to the Airport. The light rail (Metrolink) goes to the Amtrak station from the Airport in 30 minutes.
