There is a 48 page thread on posting photos:

https://www.bikeforums.net/forum-sugg...t-picture.html

Since things have changed since 2005, I recommend starting at the end and reading backwards.

I accept the fact that the Trek engineers know more than I do. Ask them for their credentials and about the equipment they use for testing.

I have a flip phone not a smart phone. Seems to make a difference. I think some folks will be interested in the internal cable routing stuff for 1 thing.
Patience please ! I'll work on it promise

I accept that Mavic engineers know more about designing wheels than I do, but that doesn't mean they have not produced products with issues.

This thread is worthless without pictures. Start a new one when you figure it out. Later.

With trek? Definitely more than others.

No but seriously trek is generally fine, but they are just so dang weird so often. Like what nipples do they even use as they don't seem to fit to any nipple wrench... and how do you make a slippery saddle so chafey? And why do they put a 130mm wide seat on an expedition tourer? And why 2 cross in 32 spoke wheels? And why are trek internal routings just so incredibly bad in every way? (Specialized on the other hand knows their stuff there).

It's incredible how that stuff just crops up. We have 1 Bianchi, 2 specializeds, 2 treks, 1 pelago, 1 surly and our drunk bikes. And ALL of the friggin weird stuff is in the 2 treks (admittedly the 520 is a really decent bike but even that has the weird nipple size). None of the others have any issues.

I blame Lance and all the advice he gave Trek while under the influence of PEDs.

Funny how the extra O2 to a persons brain makes them stupid.

I'm gonna have to defend Squeezebox on the phone thing. Like most of us, I take pics with my phone. But I don't email with my phone. And my phone's bluetooth does not talk with my laptop, for some unknown reason, so I can't download to laptop and email or post online from there. I can send a pic via text to a family member and request that they email the pic back to me, but that's the only way for right now that I can get a pic off my phone. Except for the delete button. That works, too.

Engineers don't create the parameters for a marketable product, they are told what to design by those who decide what sells. The goal is to make a profit by selling units and if there's a functional problem that doesn't appreciably affect sales it can easily crop up in a new model and continue for years.
. Consumer items that follow a fashion are not the same thing as a tool or device that has to work constantly in it's intended use. The 920 looks like a cool bike and probably works well. The designer who decided to toss on the heavy front rack doesn't care the wheels are cutting it close for a heavily loaded bike because a small fraction of buyers will be loading it down enough for short wheel life to manifest itself and when it does that customer seeking redress will be a small number compared to the larger number of consumers who buy the bike and use it occasionally. The rack is there to provide an image of capability.

I'm all for aluminum frames and companies trying to make money in emerging fashions, even expensive fancy non essential recreational items.
I'm decades out of the bicycle business and know a bit about the canoe and kayak industry and the number of totally boneheaded design elements crop up all the time because most people don't use their toys everyday or in their line of work for these problems to become a deal breaker.

easy-peasy solution.

stand in front of computer, in view of webcam.
call mom to come to basement.
hold bike up, smile, say "squeeze"!
tell mom to push "print screen" button.

oops! forgot the most important part!!!

step one: change out of aquaman underoos into spandex!

Need the pics to be proof of life style. A st louis paper with today's date next to the bike with 'Squeeze' written in black sharpie across the front page.

+1.

I don't have a smart phone. If I take a photo with my flip phone and want to post it on line, I simply text it to my GF. She emails it to me and I download it to my computer.

I am also having a hard time believing the apparent lack of a digital camera and/or a computer with a camera. I am one of the lowest tech people I know and even I have those things.

This just doesn't pass the sniff test, but what else is new?

How embarrassing it that? Having to rely on someone from a former Soviet Bloc state, to show you, an American, how to post a picture on the internet. (I'm assuming you're an American. Sorry if you're not.)
