If a person left Vacaville, and went South a ways, they might get lost going in a straight line, and find an Air Force Base, or something. 🤔😁

Later that same day, I found Barnabas Bones. He's alright, but his head flops around some. 😁😉

This is the public dock in Suisun City, on the Suisun Slough, which is connected to the San Francisco Bay.

If I go just a couple/few more miles South, I'll be at Grizzly Island. 😲😁 I still have to research things a bit, I don't think a bicycle would be very safe there. 🤔😉

Well, I made it to Grizzly Island this morning, but that bridge is way too steep to ride across, loaded for touring, lol, and there's a sign saying No Pedestrians. Even I can take a hint, eventually. 🙄😁😉

You have to cross these rolling hills, to get there, and you have to watch out for the Grizzly cows. 😁😉

Wasn’t there someone who posted a report about an overnight trip there within the last year or so, or am I misremembering?

I don't recall it, but it could easily have happened. 🤔

If you're gonna go posting Halloweenie stuff, I'll have to post this werewolf I saw this afternoon. 😁

I just came home from 9 days in Northland, New Zealand, checking out as many gravel backroads as I could squeeze in, not to mention an 80km beach section. The weather was in general fabulous, and the countryside looking very green in late spring.

I posted a similar picture a couple of years ago that was taken in 2015. But, I had a chance to do better when we took our daughters on a 6-week trip in 2018. Our route with the "girls" took us through Boppard, Germany a second time.

I see a lot of deer, but it's actually kinda tough to get any decent pics. I saw 4 here, but it's tough seeing them all, in the pics. 🙄

The early bird gets the worm, huh? 😁 I see these guys all the time too, so they might as well get their fair desserts. 🤔😉

Happy Thanksgiving!

Bikes: Mongoose Crossway, Bianchi Grizzly, Cannondale F700,

When I cycle by Deer they always look at me like I am another type of four legged animal.
One on the NCR a couple months ago had no where to run so she said the hell with it while she ate some leaves as I peddled by. She just looked at me chewing a mouth full of leaves. Her but was facing me so she turned to look at me with her mouth full. I was a foot from her. And I kept peddling instead of being dumb and trying to interact with her.

I seriously think deer, and other animals, can sense wether people are out to harm them or not. 🤔

Just about an hour ago, an 8-point buck came running towards me, cautiously at first. A group of kids on bicycles, probably around 10-12 years old, were following him, and I saw one kid throw a rock at it. 😟

The deer seemed to sense that I was a "good" human, and slowly worked his way over near me, maybe 25 feet away, and stayed there till those kids left. 😎

I dunno what the heck those kids were thinking, but they also realized I wasn't gonna put up with any of that crap, and wisely left.

I would never even think of hurting a kid, in normal circumstances, but I think if they kept chasing that deer, closer to me, I might very well be capable of kickin' their butts. 😬

I saw these guys yesterday, right near where I saw those other birds before, on the American River. This time, they're definitely seagulls, lol. 😉

The little guy on the right is "Manny". My daughter's first grade class wanted to see some of the places their school's mascot traveled last summer: Oregon

Ha, love that sign. 😎 But why would they say avoid eye contact? 🤔 That's not being very friendly. 😉
